Hey folks, Harry here... People often ask me what I have against Paul W. S. Anderson. It really is quite simple... he has never raped a pet of mine. He never has killed a family member. He's just made genre film after genre film that I didn't like. Then he was attached to a truly great genre screenplay called SOLDIER and made a wretched piece of shit out of it. Then, when George Romero seemed like he'd finally get a chance at a decent budget Zombie film, the producers gave Paul W.S. Anderson the gig. Oh, and then he made a film that was almost good, except that his choice of music completely robbed the film of any atmosphere, tension or coolness for me. And that's a director's choice. For me, he makes the most aggravating of all genre films... films that come close, but then blow it at 90 mph before crashing through the guardrail and falling off the bridge.... in a tragic disaster. HOWEVER, I have hopes for RESIDENT EVIL 2... you see, while Paul W.S. Anderson did in fact write the film... and he is producing... The person actually in charge of the movie is a new director... about whom I have no baggage. Though, I do wish Paul W.S. Anderson was doing this one instead of mutilating ALIEN VS PREDATOR... but well, I hope that both turn out good, but I'm not putting any real energy into it. Everything with his name attached tends to let me down.
Resident Evil 2 - First look?
Not sure if this is legit or not. I didn't realize filming had started yet, but I'm liking what I see so far, and this website (InsideResidentEvil.Com) is definitely a strange way to start the web promotion. Looks like they're going more for a "straight out of the game" feel this time around. Here's wishing Alexander Witt the best of luck, and maybe you can too, despite your continually, irrationally growing hatred of all things Paul W.S. Anderson.
