Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.
Okay... time for another AICN contest. You know that old saying, “Be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it”? Well, that’s been going around and around in my head as we’ve been gearing up for this. You see, I want you guys to send me your songs.
Not just any songs... I want you to write songs about the AICN characters. Any of the AICN characters, or all of them... whatever you want. You can be filthy or funny or insulting or flattering (ahem)... just be creative.
Send me the songs in MP3 format. Send them to THIS E-MAIL ADDRESS and mark them "Tenacious D Contest Entry." They can be short or long or whatever you want. We’ll be judging them for originality, replay value, and any number of other aesthetic criteria that will no doubt occur to us at the spur of the moment. And the winners... well, unfortunately, I can’t promise you a Double Team Supreme from KG and JB. They will NOT come naked up from the sidehatch for you with oils and incense. But there are prizes... and they are cool...
First prize is a signed “Fuck Her Gently” limited edition single. Second prize is an “Obey The D” t-shirt and the new CD by the greatest band in the world. And third prize is your very own shiny new copy of the CD.
If you’re still in the dark about just why Tenacious D blows your ass out, you should read this article, visit the official site, or go hang out with some hardcore fans. And then get writing. The deadline for submissions is Friday, November 9th. I expect nothing less than brilliance from each and every one of you.
