New "DUNE" Movie Finds Their Stilgar Leader of the Fremen, find out who they cast!

Hola Dannie aqui,

The good folks at Variety.com broke the news today that Denis Villeneuve's "DUNE" film has found their Stilgar leader of the Fremen and eventual husband to Lady Jessica, Paul Atreides mother. Who have they cast to play Stilgar? I am happy to report that Javier Bardem is joining the so far stellar cast. Bardem will we working alongside Timothee Chalamet who is cast as Paul Atreides, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Stellan Skarsgard as Baron Harkonnen, Charlotte Rampling as Reverend Mother Mohiam, Dave Bautista is Glossu 'Beast' Rabban, Oscar Isaac as Duke Leto Atreides Pauls Father, and Zendaya as Chani Stilgars daughter who later is Pauls wife.

I am a huge Javier Bardem fan, so much so that every time I see him in a film afterward, I always say "Javier Bar-DAMN he's so good" or "Javier Bar-Damn he's a fine actor." So this casting news is Bar-DAMN music to my ears! If some of you aren't very familiar with his work here are just four of my favorites, that I recommend seeing.

Above we have a picture from one of my top favorite Javier Bardem films "Before Night Falls" a film that follows the tumultuous life of Cuban poet and novelist, Reinaldo Arenas. This film is absolutely amazing in every way, and you get to see Johnny Depp as a cross-dressing inmate who smuggles things... that is all I will say. You should all see this film it is exquisite filmmaking and was directed by Julian Schnabel who directed "Basquiat," "At Eternity's Gate," "Miral," "Berlin," and "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly."

Most of you should know this one, "No Country For Old Men" directed by the Coen Brothers. Bardem's character is unforgettable.

Bardem's portrayal of painter Francisco Goya in "Goya's Ghost" by Milos Forman is astonishing.

"The Sea Inside" directed by Alejandro Amenábar follows the true story of Ramon Sampedro, a man who campaigned in favor of euthanasia and his right to die. It is an emotional roller coaster that swept up a ton of awards including an Oscar for best foreign film.

Back to talking about the upcoming "DUNE" films. How do all of you feel about the casting news? Denis Villeneuve's "Arrival," "Blade Runner 2049," "Incendies," "Enemy," and "Sicario" were all great films, so I am interested to see what kind of spice he will bring to Herbert's realm. The casting so far is just stunning, the only thing I am really eager for is maybe a glimpse at some actual design work from the film. They have me hooked like a worm on a hook with this project, and I am incredibly optimistic about its future at this moment in time. What about all you Herbert-heads and spice junkies out there in Geeklandia?
