Freddy here with some CANDYMAN casting news via VARIETY.
Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) is deep in talks to star as the CANDYMAN in Jordan Peele’s ‘spiritual sequel’ to the original. Yahya also stars in Jordan Peele’s upcoming, US and the Damon Lindelof’s WATCHMEN tv series.
Nia DaCosta (LITTLE WOODS) is already on board to direct, with MGM and Win Rosenfeld producing along with Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions.
That’s about all we know about this new vision of Cabrini-Green’s ghetto.
CANDYMAN is expected to hook itself into theaters June 12, 2020.
