Check out this teaser trailer for the new Horror animated series BIRDIE from Paul B. Frieling

Freddy-with what I am hoping is an inspiring article in these uncertain times.

Are you like the rest of us “artists?”  Meaning you sit around and talk about your ideas and then go to sleep without putting in the hard work to make them come to life?

Do you keep beating yourself up over your inability to complete the projects you want to get done?  Then make excuses for that inability to sate your own guilt?

I think one of my favorite comedians, Mitch Hedberg put into words what being an artist is like, better than anyone.

“I write jokes for a living.  I sit in my hotel at night.  I think of something that’s funny, then I go get a pen and I write it down.  Or if the pen is too far away, I have to convince myself that what I thought of ain’t funny.”

That’s the piece that seems to hinder artistry, the artists themselves.

Then there’s inspiring blokes like Paul B Frieling.  He created the full CG reveal shot for JURASSIC WORLD.  Paul worked at LM for 2 years and Blur Studio for 6.

Now creating his own work as an entirely independent filmmaker/animator Paul created two concept trailers, BIRDIE and BLOOD LOTUS, both of which are now in development.

That’s unheard of.

Here’s the trailer for BIRDIE

I love the unique visionary style.  There’s plenty more where that came from at his website https://www.lazydroidstudio.com/

Check it out.  It’s a great resource for how one takes an idea and sells it to those in power.  Maybe I’m selfish here, as I have a few projects I’m creating behind the scenes.  Guys like this inspire me to keep chugging away.  I’m hoping some of you are effected the same way.

If you’ve ever put away an idea because you didn’t know what to do with it, maybe just reading Paul’s story will help inspire you.  And pull that shit out and create! And, maybe not!  Hah

Stay safe out there everyone!
