In an interview with The Huffington Post Canada, William Fichtner confirmed what a lot of us anticipated. He is indeed playing the Ninja Turtles’ arch-nemesis, Shredder, in next year’s TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLE reboot. He told them the following:
I play Shredder. It is cool. It's one of those things that came along where I thought, "Really? Let me think about this for a minute." [Laughs] Then I was like, "Yeah, OK, this sounds like a journey." I'm very glad that it worked out, I'm really glad that I'm doing it.
This won’t surprise many of you, as Nordling predicted this when news of Fichtner’s casting first came down. This is still cool though as Fichtner is one of the more solid character actors we have working right now. Even if the rest of the movie is complete shit, Fichtner as Shredder, should be a lot of fun.
But wait! There is hope for this Michael Bay produced, Jonathan Liebesman directed reboot! I know it is easy (really easy) to be negative on this project, after the script leak and supposed changes (that were then changed back) but I am hearing really good things from writers who are on set right now. Movies.com’s Erik Davis even tweeted the following:
So I spent all day on the set of TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES & apart from LOVING the new look, I can absolutely confirm it will be badass

Will we get our first look at the project and the new iteration of the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES at Comic Con next month? There is a good chance that will happen so stay tuned.
