This Week's Saturday Shorts: Women, Sci-Fi Fun, and Dating Galore!

Hello ladies and gentlemen, Muldoon here with this week's round up of excellent short films created and submitted by you, the AICN audience. I hope you're ready for some random fun, because that's exactly what I have for you today, a handful of quality shorts from talented individuals that cross the genre spectrum. We have sci-fi, a romantic comedies, and a post apocaliptic film that are all sure to rock your world. Clearly, if you see something you like (A film that stood out or an effect/casting choice that made you think), then toss it out there in the Talkbacks below. You never know if the filmmaker is lurking and dying to chat you up about their short!

Go grab yourself some popcorn, lock your kids in a closet, kill the lights, relax and check out this little weekly film fest we've got ourselves here:

RIVOTANANA

TRT: 5:00

Bam! Here's Olivier Bonenfant's fun film about two guys trying to meet ladies. Simple enough, but there's a fun angle to this one. (180 degrees even). "Two malagasy are in a bar spending too many ariary on expensive beer to get a chance to meet good looking girls but it seems they're all into vazaha men. The pair will find a way to meet girls." Go check out Oliver's webstie if you like what you see!

END OF DATES

TRT: 6:55

Man, you do it - you land that date with the cutie you've been drooling over for weeks - and then.... ALIENS! Written and directed by Kyle Stafford, END OF DATES is up next! "Aliens attack Earth!!! But Dennis doesn't want that ruining his perfect date." And if you think this is a chuckle of fun, swing on over to Kyle and Big Goose's YouTube Channel for more fun videos!

FIRST DATE

TRT: 13:35

So clearly this week has now become "Guy on a date has some shitty luck." And here's Steven DeGennaro with a fun flick about something we all fear: "The horrifying true story of a man whose first date becomes a nightmare when he has an attack of Irritable Bowel Syndrome." Go check out the film's site

THE LAST GIRL

TRT: 19:28

Here's our last short of the week, a fight over a lovely lady - the last one of her kind (female). In the mood for martial arts action? Good, because director Jela Oba Okpara has just that. "In a barren wasteland a Troublesome villain and sneaky Little sidekick fight for The Last Girl on Earth against a Man that will stop at nothing to protect her." Now head on over to the film's site and see how they did it!

That's it for now laides and gents - I'll see you all next week!

If you have a short and think it belongs here or are on the fence about whether to send it in, please do send it in - I'd love to see what you've put together. I've already seen hundreds of fresh new filmmakers' shorts and like any good addict, I need more!

Shoot me an email at "Mike@aintitcool.com"

In the subject line include:

“SHORTS” + “Your film’s name” + “The film’s genre”

Then, in the body of the email, please include a synopsis of the film and any contact information you might think I need or would want published. The more info you send my way, the more info there is to put with your short.

Please don’t feel the need to submit multiple times.

Remember, the filmmakers might still be in the audience, so feel free to share your thoughts in Talkbacks below. (JUST DON'T BE AN ASSHOLE). I picked them, so you know I think highly of all of these, but how about you fine folks? How'd you like 'em?

BY THE WAY: If you've had a short featured here, that means that I personally am a fan of your work, so feel free to shoot me any kind of news on new projects/films/whatever. I can't say I'll be able to help or in what capacity, but I'm interested in your work and am always down to see more! (Keep making cool stuff, everyone!)
