As the torturous and frustratingly undefined wait for MAD MAX: FURY ROAD draws endlessly on, we now know we’ll have at least some Rocktanskyish carnage and dysfunction coming our way sooner than later.
As previously reported, there’s a (seemingly) promising video game on the horizon (HERE), and to support it now comes an official motion comic which a press issuance reveals is brought to us by “comic writer Tom Taylor (Injustice: Gods Among Us) and illustrator Jason Shawn Alexander (Legends of the Dark Knight)”
I’m looking forward to the game - so far I’m buying its style and vibe. But...yes...preview snippets are a long way from full-on gameplay, fully rendered graphics, and whatnot, so my optimism is cautiously tempered.
I’m also very much looking forward to seeing director George Miller leaving penguins behind for a while and once more wallowing in the Maxverse in which he seems so very comfortable. I do believe Max Rockatansky is bigger than Mel Gibson - especially when Tom Hardy is the point of comparison/consideration. Nonetheless, cue the “No Mel, No Max!” chorus. What’s Hardy’s line from INCEPTION? “You mustn’t be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling...”
The game itself arrives next year for PlayStations 3 & 4, XBOXes 360 and One, and PC.
