Following in the long line of action stars whose movies ended up going direct to video, we have a new trailer for Dito Montiel’s newest film, starring The Rock, EMPIRE STATE. It addition to Dwayne Johnson, the film stars Liam Hemsworth, Michael Angarano, and Emma Roberts.
I think this looks a lot better than Liam Hemsworth’s other upcoming starring vehicle, PARANOIA. It is also set during one of NYC’s most interesting periods. I have heard from people who have seen it that Angarano steals the show but isn’t able to save the movie. It’s too bad as Montiel’s A GUIDE TO RECOGONIZING YOUR SAINTS showed a lot of promise and suggested that Montiel had a bright future. I wasn’t a big fan of FIGHTING and didn’t see THE SON OF NO ONE but hopefully he will eventually fulfill the promise he once showed.
