This Crazy Tanker Truck Is Abnor!! New Vehicles From MAD MAX: FURY ROAD!!

Given the insane amount of bad luck and screwy timing which have plagued the production, I still have an "I'll believe it when I see it!" vibe about this new MAD MAX picture - said to be the first installment in an already scripted trilogy (consisting of FURY ROAD, FURIOSA, and FURRY VENGEANCE...wait that's not right).
This said, there do seem to be a number of indicators suggesting that the mighty George Miller may finally have at least the first part of his trilogy on track...including comments from new Max Tom Hardy, who says the film will roll in April, and an increased number of vehicle sightings (like THIS recent report).
A reader named David just sent along THIS article, revealing two more vehicles from the movie. Thus providing further evidence that we may FINALLY see a new MAD MAX movie in theaters, after an absence of nearly three decades.
David also provided some context for what the article says:
According to the article, these were taken at a railroad crossing on the road to Cape Cross, Namibia, presumably where filming will take place.
So there you have it. With any luck,. we'll have more and more images of this nature as FURY ROAD heads towards (hopefully) inexorable principal photography.

I used to rent the original on VHS every school holiday. The coolest movie ever made and cannot wait for this new version. Thought it a travesty without Mel but convinced Tom Hardy will pull this off.

Mad Max and Ghostbusters 3 have been bandied about for the last couple years. After 20 some years, just let it go, guys. Live with the memories. I do want to also smack around the people that want another Back to the Future or The Goonies as well.

The state of action movies is terrible right now and people are getting tired of the Michael Bay quick cut type of action movie. Unfortunately, they're barking up the wrong tree. 20-30 year old franchises are only bound to disappoint when compared to the originals. Fury Road may end up as a good movie, but if your expecting Road Warrior all over again you're doomed to be disappointed.

But as I have been discovering Tom Hardy these past few years, I can honestly say that he is an ideal choice. He is a talented actor, and can play crazy better than almost anyone. I want the "Insane at the end of Mad Max" version of Max- Hardy can bring that. I don't think Mel could pull that off anymore.

him into a haggard looking old man. He may be in his mid 50s but he looks 75. Cameo? Maybe a visual reference to the trilogy, but an actual cameo would be too gimmicky.

I'm just surprised nobody wrote that before now. Sure, what the hell. Make another one. I actually considered 2008's "Doomsday" and unofficial Mad Max, once I learned to stop worrying and just have fun with it.

Really, they got it right in Road Warrior with the lighter vehicles. This stuff is neat-looking, but does anyone seriously think we're going to get anything other than a safer, neutered version of the Max world this time around? Nothing made these days has half the guts of the first two Max films. They were disturbing in a way that's not allowed in mainstream cinema these days, and that goes to the rough and raw roots of their production - critical factors which are not being reproduced. As far as my expectations go, I file this in the "new Evil Dead film" category. In other words, virtually no hope this will be more than a pale imitation.

It must be said as many times as necessary. NO MAD MEL, NO MAD MAX. Anyone who says otherwise is betraying the Road Warrior, and yes, that does include George Miller.

An un-armored tanker truck would be open game. I'll give Hardy a chance since he's been awesome in everything I've seen him in thus far. (Nemesis excluded) But I'd much rather see Mel do it. At least their not trying to cheapen it with Diesel or the Rock. Both decent but not Max worthy. Hey, maybe the Fast franchise can do a knockoff. Fast and Furious 2099. Marvel can produce and Statham can star alongside Tatum.
