of his personal leadership style. Apparantly, his staff hated him and his workaholic nature, and most of his party hated him because he excluded them from decision making. Basically, ALP politicians don't like to work hard. They want to sit back, get drunk and screw staffers. Rudd hurt the status quo, and he made the mistake of assuming he had a presidential mandate, when in fact he served at the pleasure of the ALP party caucus. If they didn't like him and his work ethic, that was a problem.

Like Darth Plagius the wise, Kevin Rudd enjoyed the power his position gave him. He loved it so much that the only thing in the world which he feared was losing his power. When his popularity faded, it was this fear that led him to shut off his deputy from decision making, for he rightly saw his deputy as a threat. He tried to gain support, but the damage was done, and the mutiny had begun.

As Felix Gaeta once tried to humble Adama on the voyages of Battlestar Galactica, so did Julia Gillard humble Rudd. Behind closed doors she plotted with the union movement, the branch stackers and good old ALP scum and villany. She made factional deals and "the Producers" style promises. And like Felix Gaeta, she handled communications impeccably while the push was taking place.

So now Julia has the power. But let me tell you. Some day soon, there will be a reckoning. She will be remembered as the imposter on the throne. The only 3 month PM in Australian History.

Like Adama, Kevin Rudd will take back his ship.

I distinctly remember your War of the Worlds review suggesting it was one of Spielberg's best films marred by the prescence of Cruise. There may have been some facetiousness involved, but I certainly didn't think so at the time...

I looked up my review so I could quote parts of it to prove you wrong, but you're not. I was actually a little shocked reading what I'd written, as it doesn't at all reflect what I feel now! Apparently, I didn't like Cruise in WOTW at the time, but that has changed a lot on repeat viewings. Well remembered!
