Back in late February, we posted some video featuring The Black Pearl arriving in Hawaii to prep for its appearance in PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES (HERE). At the time, we indicated some work would be done to the vessel before cameras roll. Per these stealthily nabbed spy pics, looks like that work is now being done. This comes to us via Albinomack...

Hi, Harry. A friend of a friend stumbled into a new job in Hawaii helping construct some set pieces for the new Pirates of the Caribbean 4 pic. Looks like the Black Pearl is getting ready to set sail soon. Pretty low res pics but hopefully this will get some others on the island over to the set to get us some better looks. I still find it very impressive when movie studios take the time to construct these set pieces to scale. Enjoy! Albinomack

Here are the pics: I agree with Albinomack - as good as CGI can (sometimes) be, there's something kinda stirring about the construction of full size stuff like this. Even though I'm not entirely sure what actually happened in the third PIRATES film, I do look forward to seeing where the next movie goes under the direction of Rob Marshall.
