UPDATED!! Look Upon The Badassity Of THE EXPENDABLES Poster!!

Published at:  Mar 18, 2010 10:04:14 AM CDT

Merrick again...

Collider has posted images of an EXPENDABLES standee on display at ShowWest. Not as cool as the image seen below, but also a pretty wicked piece of art. Check it out HERE.

Merrick here...

A week or two ago, we got a look at a kooky EXPENDABLES poster from overseas which introduced us to some cat named Willis Schwarzenegger (HERE).

Now comes the new American poster for the film. It's simple and slick in design, raw in concept, a little bit violent, a little bit rock & roll, and...just plain cool. I love this. Love it!
Behold!

This comes to us from the gang over at IGN (HERE).

to hear Highway to Hell for the 8 billionth time. Or maybe Back in Black. Or You Shook Me. Because those songs aren't the total definition of cliche. "The Unfuckables" Poster

    by thejudger

Has to use the same image play theme. Maybe a back of the head shot of Ron Jeremy with his hairy back in frame. His head is buried deep into an old ladies muff. There are other ladies stacked on top of the lady he's servicing. All of them have their legs spread open waiting for their headtime. These legs would make the wings, like the guns do for this poster. And instead of choose your weapon for the tag line. It could be "Choose You Cunny".

Remember it's the Unfuckables. Basically all the greats of the 70's porn era going back into action.

an urgent note to Sly Stallone:

    by deniro4prez

Hey, Sly... long time fan here. Kind of fan that used to remake your movies with my older brother with one of those old clunky VHS recorders... kind of fan that still ownes the cessette tape to the 'over the top' soundtrack, know what I mean? Big fan. Now that we got the introductions out of the way, allow me to offer you some free advice: although your last Rambo film didn't light the box-office on fire, it gave you something even more important, your credibility back. You actually made a film for your fans, and your fans, in return, recommended the film to their friends, family and every one else who had long since written you off (for selling out years ago-by making movies for paychecks instead of quality)... and all these people who reluctantly rented Rambo (4) on dvd loved the movie... and why? Because you fucking delivered what Hollywood had long since abandoned; a kick-ass, no holds barred, action HERO, action film--starring not a Matt Damon type everyman imposter! Rather none other than the man who defined the genre, the larger than life, King of cool, everybodies favorite under-dog, He-Man himself, Sylvester Stallone! In a quality (action) movie! Christ, it had been a long time, Sly. When was Cliffhanger released? I know the answer (remember, I'm a big fan), but I trust you get the point? It had been a long fucking time! So just as your first Rambo film found it's audience in the home-viewing arena, so too did your last. And as result, the weakest entry in the series, Part II, was a huge blockbuster(ing), landing in the number 2 postition for the entire year of 85'. Pretty remarkable stuff... but what I'm really tryiing to say here, Sly, is that-as you damn well know- your latest movie, 'The Expendables', is being sold and marketed as the second coming of the golden age of the action film... the fucking 'Raging Bull' of the genre... a hard-core, blood, tit, and action throwback to glorious 80's style excess!!! But!!! And I kid you not, Sly, if you fucking made a PG-13 kiddie flick instead of the one that's being MARKETED? I'm fucking done with you! You'll take your place along side your pal Bruce on my sell-out wall of shame! Oh, and I'll be burning my 'over the top' soundtrack as well!

    by falconsclaw

SideshowCollectible.com will have the deluxe ten piece action figure set? I'm thinking this will be a great place for Hasbro to break out all the old GI Joe molds and be ready for Christmas!!

Clearly, Fontgate means we must boycott this movie...

    by royston lodge

...and every movie that Sylvester Stallone is ever involved in, because using a freeware font is CLEARLY the greatest sin that has every been perpetrated in Hollywood.
    Clearly...

BringingSexyBack: That's not the same font.

    by royston lodge

The 'o' is clearly very different.
And, clearly, the identification of the offending font is clearly the most vital duty of every talkbacker who must shame stallone into clearly coming out with a clearly public apology for Fontgate.
    Clearly.

Don't expect more than a fun, 80s-style action flick.

    by marksman91

That's what I'm doing, anyway. I think Stallone's reason for doing this was really to bring those badass 80s-style action films with tons o' guns and testosterone. And from what I've seen so far, it seems to do just that. Can't wait to see this with my buddies. Should make for one REALLY fun going to the movies.

This sounds like a a cool movie, but the main & probably only reason I'll go see it is because of Charisma Carpenter. I hope she gets some pretty decent screentime.

they would pitch this as the anti-chick movie. As a lesbian I get so tired of being lumped in as wanting to see movies with Hu Grantz and the like. Just show me this kind of thing i'm good. No more fucking Twatlight. Show me this.

    best poster in a while...

    by lonewolfmcquade

And I'm officially sixteen again, when my walls where plastered with Stallone posters.
Now - I said it before and I say it again - I only hope Stallone got his writing chops back, because as much as I loved the grittiness of the last Rambo the script was fuckin' awful.
    Bring it on, Sly!

what's great about what sly has done is....

    by iwasredempted

when he was younger he essentially wrote himself into a hollywood player with rocky because no one was offering him roles. now he's done the same thing when it appeared he was washed up. that is impressive. i hope this is as good as it appears and makes a trillion dollars.
