Ricky Gervais Gets On with the Deceased in a Very Pleasant Trailer for GHOST TOWN!

Beaks here... This looks familiar. But if you've got to recycle the ol' "regular guy communes with apparitions and learns shit" narrative, you can't do much better than Ricky Gervais as a snide Cosmo Topper. Seriously, this is a very slick trailer. Hearing Eumir Deodato's "Also sprach Zarathustra" kicking up on the soundtrack puts me in a happy BEING THERE mood, while the use of "I'm Looking Through You" reminds me how much the ending of Wes Anderson's THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS suffered when he failed to secure the rights to the classic Beatles tune. Yes, it's derivative as all hell, but the presence of Gervais, Greg Kinnear and Kristen Wiig puts it over (in other words, I'll give THE RED STAR a big ol' pass if they cast Gervais as the mighty Sirdar). Kinda hard to believe this was written and directed by David Koepp. Dreamworks will roll out GHOST TOWN on September 19th.
