Another Familiar Face Is Returning For The New FAST AND THE FURIOUS Film!!

Ealier this week, we learned that a former Miss Israel had been cast in the film. Now comes word that Michelle Rodriguez, fresh from shooting James Cameron's AVATAR, will reprise her role as "Letty" in the new movie.
So says her official website, which you can find HERE. Among her many roles, Rodriguez appeared in the first FAST AND THE FURIOUS as the same character, did voice work for HALO 2, was a character in LOST, and even appeared in an Uwe Boll movie...undoubtedly the pinnacle of her career.

According to the plot summary with the last bit of Fast And The Fourious news her character gets killed off which results in Vin Diesel and Paul Walker re-teaming to avenge her death..or something like that. Yes, the movies and titles are ridiculously dumb, but they've all been fun movies so far. Hope the trend continues if they're going to keep making em.

When I read the title of this article, I was kind of hoping it was going to be Lucas Black who was returning. I like that guy, and he was a much more charismatic and interesting protagonist in part 3 than Paul Walker was in either of the first two.<p>Even so, I do like Michelle Rodriguez, so this is still decent news. Maybe she plays the same role over and over, but I don't care. She does it well, it's fun to watch, and, also, I secretly think she's sort of hot.<p>Damn, I gave that secret away at the end there...

Must've seen Aliens as a youth and decided to base her entire screen persona on Vasquez. Couldn't be more on the mark. Ironic that Cameron has a role for her in Avatar. BTW, directed by BOTH Uwe Boll and PWS Anderson?? Kudos Michelle.

I know it's been said but I thought I would use the power of my black box. With Diesel and Walker it's not that big of a deal because they were already together in the first one. But throw Black in there and it's like that one Star Trek movie where they had William Shatner AND Patrick Stewart.<p> Also bring back Sonny Chiba's character and teach him how to drive fancy neon colored cars so he can get more screen time.

I agree with Vern - Lucas Black needs to be in this movie. Part 3 left everyone hanging with the Vin Diesel cameo at the end. The continuation of that scene into this new movie needs to be explained. What happened between Vin and Lucas' characters? It's the only way to satisfy those of us who are interested in this franchise. Even if it's only a cameo appearance by Lucas. Otherwise, why even mix two different racing worlds by bringing in Vin at the end of part 3!! Another idea is to use any interesting, unused footage from the end of part 3 of Vin and Lucas, to kick off part 4.

I think they need to distance themselves from the numbers starting with this flick. Although whoever came up with The F4st and the Furious as a possible title was definitely on point with that. Getting your original cast back after some time away from the franchise should likely inspire the producers into serializing this thing a little more... It won't happen... Vin and Paul will either steal or help stop someone else from stealing something. They'll have to win a race for some reason and possibly have to call in the cavalry which will be Tyrese, Lucas Black, Ludacris and Devon Aoki. Michelle Rodriguez will be kidnapped and held as ransom or up for a long stretch and used as blackmail to get the guys back into the game. I don't know and I don't think it matters. I won't see this in the theatres but when its on cable I will inevitably indulge my car tuner fixation and give it a go, hating myself the whole way. Although if they put a Nissan engine into another classic muscle car I'm going to be sick. Oh and a 60's Mustang cant Drift down a mountain. I'd love to own a '66 Mustang Fastback or a '70 Dodge Challenger but those are meant for drag racing not cornering. He couldn't have found a Honda Civic or a Toyota Corolla for that last drift race? He did live in Japan...

Man, that was awesome, it showed a side of Michelle no one ever sees and showed she was not the sterotypical latina action star she is made out to be, but actually an intelectual, video game playing, life experience enthusiast...I wished more people watched it so they'd know the real Michelle before talking smack about her and only seeing her portrayed the way the media paints her lifestyle...I gained a whole new appreciation for her. -ED
