A New DARK KNIGHT Image Is Kinda Blah!! But Will A New Challenge Lead To Better Pay Off??
Merrick here...
Remember a while back, when the first clear image of Heath Ledger as the Joker was revealed by http://www.ibelieveinharveydenttoo.com/ via a slowly depixelating political campaign poster?
That was cool.
For many days now, there's been a carved pumpkin graphic on a new site. Heat from the candle inside was slowly melting away half of its face, leading to widespread speculation that THE DARK KNIGHT's version of Two Face would finally be revealed.
Turns out that...when all is said and done...we ended up with a picture of...
...The Joker. Again. Riding in a car this time.

OOOOOOOOHHHHHHH, exciting! And...you know...hardly worth the wait. A fantastic build up to very little pay off; hope the movie doesn't follow suit.
HOWEVER, there's new campaign underway, which could feasibly garner greater reward if we jump through the right hoops. FIND DETAILS HERE.
Sorry this info is a tad delayed; tech issues thwarting site updating.

Bitches?

In your respective faces.
-
Fuck first posters.
-
Like in those OnStar commercials from a few years back. He was good in those.
-
What is that thing in front of the Joker's face? Do I really want to know?
-
prove your sobriety...finger a witness (not that type!)...Are you still grumpy Jonas considering you got the first five posts?
-
Very "Killing Joke" Joker.
-
Not a dildo, He is bringing his two hands together, all fingertips to fingertips (notice the hand on the left) in black gloves.
-
This is such bullshit, the fucking Joker is almost as tired as Batman. Nicholson killed the character, now we're gonna get Heath "I was supposed to play Mad Max's son" Ledger in the role? Fucking WEAK. You know why there's a black dildo there? Cuz the Joker is teh G@yn3ss!This moment of sarcasm brought to you by Fawst. Seriously, that's a great image and I don't understand why people keep whining about it. Nothing against you Merrick, but that is our first OFFICIAL shot of him from the film. Yah, we'e seen the unofficial stills (which look incredible), but this is sweetness. THAT man would scare me. Nicholson just made me laugh, and not because of his comments regarding rhubarb.
-
The pixellated Joker image was revealed by ibelieveinharveydenttoo.com. The teaser trailer was revealed by whysoserious.com. I realize there's not too much buzz on this site about the movie, but they could at least get the facts straight.
-
Joker is holding a Batpenis and Tom Noonan from Manhunter is driving him,..see its a huge spoiler!!!
-
He looks like a crazy artist. Not sure about this, could really go either way. Still think Crispin Glover would have nailed this part, even without any makeup. :) Need to see Ledger in action before making any final decision...
-
Ever.
-
He's the Joker ALL THE TIME. This is true in his appearance as well as his psyche. That's what's so damn scary about him. Wipe off Heath Ledger's face paint, you just have a nutcase.
-
that we see holding what looks like a black dildo. They are far too small to be his hands and the dildo looking thing is too big to be his finger. You can see the thumbs line up clearly on each hand s though the dwarf is in the seat well facing Ledger.
-
That image is awesome. Seriously, this is ANYTHING but a let down. This is probaly the clearest shot we have of the joker, and it's great. This version of the Joker is actually pretty damn scary. And to go along with that (awesome) picture we got from whysoserious.com, we got another audio clip of the joker talking, which was also pretty damn scary sounding.
-
That´s the way it happens most of the time. Case in point, the X-Men black leather uniforms after the 1st movie came out. Case in point, Superman seems to cry more than he used to, after the release of Superman Returns.
-
How are we supposed to send him our "pics"? No links at all on that site. Update forthcoming I suppose?
-
Love everything being grounded in realism... Looking forward to seeing Heath's take on the character..
-
Unfortunately, that's mostly the case when it comes to Hollywood.
-
I can't wait for this. This and Iron Man are the films to watch next year methinks! (you are SO money dude...so money and you don't know it!)
-
really. maybe they should just post all the spoiler images now, why wait for the movie to come out either. maybe they should just post the whole movie.. ::smack:: the image is shiny.
-
or is it just that blurry?
-
but yea i guess the pic couldve been more exciting than him giving a cab driver directions
-
that's exactly it. I was looking at that image thinking that reminds me of something. Racking my brain i saw your post. The Crow! Exactly.
-
IGN posted a story that said that these messages were on the site as well. Sounds pretty cool that Joker is fucking with Batman like this.
"The only sensible way to live in this world is without rules."
You can even hear a cryptic recording of Joker saying, "Tonight, you're gonna break your one rule."
But that's not all: check out the new viral marketing site Rory's Death Kiss, a play on the Dark Knight production's not so secret codename of Rory's First Kiss, for a new challenge from The Joker. His latest message reads, "Patience is a virtue, but who wants to be virtuous? It's time to get this little show of mine on the road. Anyone can wear a mask on Halloween. It's what they skin off your face the rest of the year that really slays an audience." -
It was a cool game, it's an evocative sound clip, and a terrific image. No idea why writers at AICN get excited about Man in Suit bullshit and not something as promising as this.
-
But I like the way he looks. Not too polished, like Nicholson's joker was. This look reminds me of the Baseball Furies makeup from "The Warriors," which owed a nod to the kubuki makeup of KISS. Cool look.
-
of the Joker yet? Those ones that were online back in August seemed a lot more clear to me! Have to say Heaths voice gives me chills-it's absolutely spot on.
-
are you a plant? because we know. all of that. because we clicked with our mouses. bring on the trailer
-
I was bummed about the previous images, but this shot looks like Miller's Joker from DKR, and that's a GOOD thing.
-
The challenge you're talking about is what the pumpkin revealed. Don't be all confused.
-
The other dude said it.
-
That's all I see....real original guys...you're lucky people will like anything. Can we atleast get cool contact lenses or SOMETHING to make him more scurry and inhuman.
-
Can someone give us a link to the sound clip?
-
I wouldnt worry too much-Nolan has said plenty of times that the story will focus on batman and he's to remain the centre of concerns. Although Im dieing to see that Joker.
-
agree about the furies look
-
The "thing" in front of Joker's face is his GLOVED MIDDLE FINGER.
Yes, the joke IS on us. The game is a fun exercise in CONTROL. -
break your one rule." is what the audio says. It plays when you reveal the image behind the collage. Just click on the image poking out underneath the edges to hear the clip and see the image.http://tinyurl.com/yrss5g

Does Heath still sound like re-heated Nicholson? Let's hope not.

Jeez merrick, your more of a downer than the talkbackers
by guy who got a headache and accidentally
Who is to say two face is even in the film, and if so why would we want the image of his face spoiled already when the damn movie is still far from being released. Jesus what a bunch of jackasses with a sense of self entitlement
-
Doubt? This movie is going to rip your balls off and make you eat them. YEAH MOTHER FUCKER!!
-
...not to worry. The voice clips we've gotten so far sound good. He's got a certain... a kind of a hint of a purr going on. He's definitely doing a voice, and it's a little theatrical, but it doesn't sound like Nicholson. It's kind of high, a little husky, and a bit of a purr.
-
Click on the portion of the photo showing under the letter and the scalpel. And then click on the photo. I'm pumped for this but still hoping that this is just the Joker Begins portion of Nolan's run at the story. Hoping to see the Joker transform from petty thief w/ grease paint to psychotic master criminal w/ permanent white skin and expanded smile. But not a Burton-esque permanent smile . . .
-
Clearly we're supposed to believe the Joker's behind all this, so why is it disappointing that he didn't give us what we expected(or at the very least, is making us wait a little longer)? Have fun with it, Merrick; it's not their fault so many images were leaked prematurely.
-
Nah, but it looks like his chubby chin to me if you squint a little.
-
Go look at the scene of Joker sitting in his chair thinking from Batman #1. If you can't see the resemble then you're retarded.
-
Batman Begins was a fantastic film. That said, it could have been better had they cleaned up the fight sequences a little. It's sort of like Spiderman 3 for me, where the first two-thirds are perfect, but the final stretch suffers.

I refused to watch it in the theatre, thinking I was just "over" the whole Batman thing. I picked it up on DVD in a moment of weakness and watched it alone one Friday night, with a fire roaring and a glass of wine. I was blown away. Excellent, excellent movie. I'm holding no expectations for the sequel and am just going to enjoy the thing. I didn't much care for the first movies at all ... though that Nicole Kidman with straight hair was a pretty nice treat.

When do we see our first pic of The Midnight Toker I'm wondering
by reel american hero
But seriously, the pics revealed so far, and the flash mob as marketing tool is pretty nifty in my opinion. It's a lot better than just saying, see our movie, see our movie, SEE...OUR....MOVIE.
And as far as Heath Ledger as The Joker, I think he's going to do a great job, the voice seems to be evocative of a mix of the Jack Nicholson and Mark Hammil versions with something else to make it different at the same time. As far as the makeup is concerned, since they're doing these Batman flicks in a more realistic setting, the standard vat of chemicals=green hair and clown face thing wouldn't really fit, so I'm cool with the theatrical psycho version of the character. -
No sir, I don't like it.
-
Yes, don't you love that experience? That happened to me with the shows '24' and 'Lost.' And recently with the film '300.' I just refused to see them because I figured I had their numbers. But when I finally did, I was blown the hell away.
-
I don't understand why people were expecting two-face: since Dent changes at least halfway through the movie, if not towards the very end, it's one of the film's big reveals (as opposed to the Joker, who appears as is throughout). We get to know Dent, follow him through the screen, and then he becomes something else. We'd just be walking in with the image of two-face in our mind if we had gotten official shots first. Besides, a stupid photo is no match for a trailer, which is what I hope we'll get after the Joker pics are sent in (although the site doesn't specify where to send them to). If it's not a trailer, a poster would make more sense, although that sucks too in comparison - it'll just be a shot of Batman in some cool pose (like many we've already seen), and beneath him, "The Dark Knight". Oh yay, what a treat...please, after all these hoops, a trailer is the least they can give, or at least the Wizard World footage.
-
yea the final parts of spidey 3 fucked up. its like for every cool and good scene we got in the movie, we got fucked over in the end. you guys liked the birth of sandman huh? now take this stupid out of place butler love scene! oh you liked when spidey first got the black suit? well take this dance scene in a jazz club! that scene when spidey fights sandman underground was cool huh? well lets fuck you over with 2 kids screaming awesome and wicked cool and a stupid newscaster scene, all while interupting the final battle! seriously though the scene when spiderman and venom fell off the building and starting fighting in midair was fuckin cool idk why they decided to have all that shit interupt that and not have spidey and venom fight more. fuck. seriously wtf

Then I watched it one day on HBO, of all places, and loved it so much I caught the replay later that day. Now I love it to death. Go Figure.
-
...Nolan were as good at flawlessly jumping from real character scenes to fun blockbuster scenes the way Raimi is.
-
I disagree with your opinion on BATMAN BEGINS and Ledger. And when it comes to Super Heroes, Batman is one of the few who has NO "super powers". His world/story has always been more grounded in reality.Anyway, all your I am Batman-style bitching aside, I know that in your heart of hearts...you...truly...LOVE BATTLESTAR GALACTICA!!!
-
Exactly. I understand what they were trying to do, and if they'd just let the fucken movie be longer(at 2 1/2, why not?) then at least there would have been a little more breathing room and shit wouldn't have gotten so fucked. For instance, why when Peter sees Mary Jane is trouble, does he take the time to stare at his suit at home, then go to Harry's for a chat before he goes to rescue her? Can he not see that she is in immediate danger. That totally fucked the thrill and the pacing for me. I still love Raimi as a director though. The first half was all him.
-
yea if they wouldve cut a few of those scenes, and had peter not dance and steal peoples drinks, and expanded the finale, we wouldve had a much better movie. ill mention this again (i post it everywehre) word had it that raimi was furiously editing the film down before its release so maybe we can see a better directors cut someday.
-
but im sort of worried about this movie. its the same feeling i had before spiderman 3...but im not psychic, so who cares what i say anyway...
-
any more than lee bermejo's version of the joker already has....
interesting note: if you type rorysfirstkiss.com you are directed to the warner bros/CW channel site. not surprising that they would buy up that address, but why bring you THERE? -
Because I heard Nolan had this trilogy planned. I trust his judgement, especially when it involves character evolution.
-
while the Iron Man or Cloverfield marketing campaign is granted teaser topics for their own teaser.
How many early pieces did you run to warn us of the upcoming release of their respective trailers? 2? 3? Now Warner does a clever move for once and of all people YOU find a way to complain not about the heart of the matter (the Joker's look - to each his own) but about their fucking scavenger hunt. Too little a pay-off? It's not even finished for Christ's sake! -
Nov 01, 2007 12:04:56 PM CDT
actually cut all those bad scenes i mentioned
by aicndoesntwantmorecowbell
we REALLY didnt need those newscasters, two boys saying wicked cool, spiderman randomly landing in front of the american flag, the dance scene in the club, and the butler scene. HOW DID THESE GET IN THE FINAL CUT? WTF
-
Here, here(raises a goblet)
-
Should they have Dent turn into 2F at the end of this movie? Will they go for the whole Empire Strikes Back mentality and have everything go to shizznit at the end of this film? I think I'd rather have Dent grow as a character during this film...really get us to like the character. And then have the turn in BM3.
-
im pretty sure batman wont dance in a club, then tell someone hes gonna put dirt in their eye.
-
What? The cheque didn't clear?
-
I was especially disappointed with the way they wrapped up Harry's storyline. Did his butler need to tell him? No. Did he really need to know for sure that Peter did not kill him? No. He could have made a surprise visit, Han Solo style, and come to the rescue for Mary Jane's sake. It could have had nothing to do with Peter. He could still have been like, "fuck you Peter, I'm here for MJ!"
-
Appropriately freakish.
-
And I won't be seeing this.
-
I didn't realize they were bringing back Tommy Lee's Two Face from (My choice for the Best Batman todate) for this one? I like Batman Forever because Val Kilmer nailed it. And for anyone that like George Clooney, they need to see Batman and Robin and realize how full of himself he is, that he thought he could be Batman? Ruins any movie he's ever made (except 3 kings, best movie of his hand down). As far as Jack's Butt Buddy as the Joker, couldn't they get an actor the has the ability to act? I mean Jude Law would have been a better choice? Well will see if Heth can do it, I want him to I mean Bman Begains was amazing, especially stoned. But can we strike oil twice? No other director has been able to? Yeah Returns was alright but not half as good as Batman, and we all know about 3 and 4.
-
i haven't been here all that long, but it seems to be true: AICN seems to have something against this batman franchise....read the front page and you won't find another editorial opinion in a blurb except this one "the image is kinda BLAH"...the only other opinions come from spies or early reviewers...so what is it AICN has against this series? Nolan not pay them enough to kiss ass like JJ did? Cloverfield hasn't given us SHIT but they are all intrigued by the mystery. This campaign is more about fun and involvement than payoff. Maybe they want a downloadable copy of TDK at the end of this game? c'mon. deal.
-
i'm excited as hell about this new batman flick (that alone says a lot since i think dc sucks) and i loved spiderman 3....you know, except for the dance scene...that made me want to punch a baby.

-
..sucked because, inlike the "Raindrops keep falling" sequence from the second one, Peter was acting out of character. I know some will argue that's the point of the black suit and that it made him act that way, but that shouldn't mean he can suddenly play piano and dance like a pro. In the "Raidrops" sequence he was acting normal with a goofy song played over, but in 3 he was just goofy and out of character for me.
-
after being caught in a rain storm.
-
...is probably a bad thing.
What gives with this article? A kinda boring pic is released and that is somehow extrapolated into a boring pic? I can grab a boring picture out of ANY movie made. Let's not jump to wondering if the movie is going to suck because a boring picture is out there... sheesh... dumb. I liked Spiderman 3. And the Transformers. I didn't like The Fantastic 4 flicks, much. There was no urge to punch a baby though. Babies are cute as long as they're not wailing. Unless it's a realllly ugly baby... -
... WHILE I WAS SLEEPING AND NEVER APOLOGIZED. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I hated that movie.

The problem with Spider-Man 3 only started at pacing...
by iamnicksaicnsn
But the quickness of the film wasn't the only problem. I mean, obviously all the characters were marginalized, but Raimi still didn't really get Venom and made him fucking retarded. And the dialogue was Star Wars prequel level, as was the acting (Harry's death as an example). I think I even hated the score, really overbearing, if I remember correctly, but I ultimately refuse to ever watch it again. Just total, total garbage. AND WHAT ABOUT THOSE STUPID FUCKING DANCE SEQUENCES?
-
that makes you angry also makes you 'just wanna DANCE'..and be a musical wonder. i guess. i don't know. had no desire to see spidey 3, and last i checked, this was a batman thread.
-
...here and there only make me want to see it more. I don't think it's "little payoff". The driver looks pretty twisted too. This photo adds to the darkness that is the Joker's normalcy. Say what you will, but I'm liking this build-up.
-
Who the fuck is Rory and what is his death kiss??
-
I don't get Venom, nor why anyone would care about how much he is "understood" or whatever. He's like the lamest idea for a bad guy ever... "wow, let's take Spider-Man and make him evil" is essentially the idea. And from what I understand he's like one of the more popular villains in the comic book. I don't get it. So I don't care how much there was about him in the movie. He made a great bad-guy in the flick (which surprised me, because again I don't care about Venom), just as the Sandman did, just as Harry's Green goblin did.

Actually, it looks like he's giving him the finger
by dingleberry jones
Which reminds me of that one funny scene in Naked Gun 33 1/3 where Fred Ward's mom was giving Drebin the bird. Funny stuff.
-
was the secret name (for the movie) used during filming of TDK....Rory is nolan's son's name. So rory's DEATH kiss is poking fun at this factoid that only fanboys should really know of....although i'm surprised Nolan would allow it. seems like bad luck to me.
-
Updated with results of the picture scavenger hunt. I'll give them this, it was creative and interactive.
-
i mean, it's a kid on a fucking snowboard/back-to-the-future hoverboard...dressed in x-games gear. i didn't need a monster mask, but come on.......anyway. back to batman :)
-
The movie will be awesome, but I'm worried the ad campaign is too dark, making the movie look like Saw or Hostel. Those types of flicks are popular right now, but their BO tops out way below what Batman needs to do. WB needs to release pics of the other characters or set designs to change the tone from slasher flick to action-adventure movie.
-
I heard that the Joker will support gay marriage, abortions, and won't support the troops to, you know, emphasize his villainy.
-
1) some people thought that a 'bat shadow' flies over the ransom note before it burns. Nope. depending on your speed, it's the paper turning dark as it burns. It just doesn't always synch up
2) rorysdeathkiss hasn't been updated yet. those are the pics from the first interactive thing from the Con. there isn't even an address to send them to. maybe one will be available later today? (to give people all day to shoot pics?) but that would be stupid, why not now? -
I am slowly realizing, that I DON'T want Spoilers and teasers that give away too much. I want enjoy the ride of this movie like it is NEW. SO, if they don't show me every detail of the movie, but are still giving us some cool imagery and making it fun at the same time? what's the problem. Sure I can choose to look away, but really who can do that these days...I don't want to go into a movie like BMDK and know everything that is going to happen, and part of that is the imagery. Can't wait for this!!!!
-
...and commanding him, "You will go in there and stick this in Mr. Wayne's ass..."
I liked Bats Begins a lot. I thought the only weak part was Rachael Dawes-Cruise or whatever the hell her real name is. -
Seriously, I basically skip over everything he writes. Way to talk down to AICNers who are excited about the one good comic book film franchise we have...and at least get your facts straight.

What is the deal with this site and Nolans Batman Movies.
by baleisbatman
You guys are trying so hard to ignore/downplay the hype for this movie. Harry did the same with Batman Begins. This is the most anticipated movie of next year and try as you may your not gonna convince us that theres nothing to look forward to here. Its gonna shit on Iron its gonna shit on Crystal Skulls, and it will shit on you!
-
you got the disk bottom, and a bit of the white house's columns, and then the explosive plume....only it's all been bleached out using the photoshop
paper/texture filter back in frickin' 1996.
edit features are cool too. couldn't slow down the talkbacks anymore than they are....may even reduce how long they get.....but what do i know, i'm just an artist, i can do web design for shit. -
is a bleached out version of this:

...came out in 1996..just like this site? so i guess it's sentimental, but also kinda sad. -
This sucks. This isn't MY JOKER! I want the Joker to LOOK LIKE THE GODDAMN FUCKING JOKER! Obviously this is too much to ask for. They should have had some skinny. heroin fucked looking dude with a GIANT CREEPY GRIN! Like that old Lon Chaney creepy dude in that lost horror movie. FUCK!
-
this scavenger hunt is already pretty much finished. where've ya been?
-
"This isn't MY JOKER!" -exactly!...but which variant of the several from the various incarnations of Batman:film comic and television- do you cling to the most?....i've said it before. EVERYONE will never be happy. IT WILL NOT BE THE MOVIE YOU HAVE MADE IN YOUR HEAD. so become a director and make your own in 20 years when the franchise needs a boost again.
-
Or maybe pull my finger?
"Hey driver, smell this!" -
I think the trailer will give us a good look at how batshit crazy Nolan is gonna let Ledger go with this character.
-
Everyone (me included) has been releasing gobs of nerd-sperm everytime a new little nugget came out. Now that Merrick doesnt like this nugget..."ZOMG THIS IS SO GAY HE LOOKS LIKE T3H CROW THIS WILL BE A LETDOWN HEATH LEDGER WAS THE WRONG CHOICE". Relax. Just because the Joker didnt come to your house and stab your mom when the fucking digital pumpkin melted does not mean this movie will be any less excellent. Merrick, for shame.
-
... on a TV screen with the tint adjusted very badly, contemplating an old prop from a Robert Maplethorpe photo session. I saw two guys kissing in a public park about six months ago and thought it was the gayest thing I've ever seen... until I saw this "Joker" photo.

it feels good to lose yourself to it...it makes me wanna...it makes me wanna DANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-
...and it only goes all stringy and crazy after some shit goes down...and then he methodically combs it back again....because one thing the joker has always been about is meticulous appearance. he's chaotic, but he's ironically vain too. oh well. still wanna see it.
-
remember what happened with spiderman 3?
-
"Relax. Just because the Joker didnt come to your house and stab your mom when the fucking digital pumpkin melted does not mean this movie will be any less excellent." So true. Though I'd hate to have gone thru all that scavenger hunt bullshit for this picture. Hopefully we will see some kind of trailer with whatever WB's big X-Mas release is. I think this movie is going to be awesome. I love the idea of this basically turning into a Batman Vs. The Joker gang war with all the copycat taking sides. That's so original. Just please, no stupid shakycam fights this time. I know the effect they were going for but it didn't work. It just looks like Nolan doesn't know how to shoot fights.
-
And so will this movie. A lot of people posting here seem to think this site has a bias against this movie. If this is true... shame on aicn.
-
...but will a new AICN writer lead to a better payoff????? Dude, you and the rest of AICN need to get over your damn selves. Is the problem that you resent them for not using your screenplay, or that they didn't give you enough kickbacks to actually fake some enthusiasm? Oh, sorry, I hope reading this talkback hasn't distracted you from sucking Eli Roth's untalented nuts.
-
Eli Roth does have untalented nuts.
-
I thought Nicholson's take on the Joker was pretty much perfect. He's homicidal, yes - but otherwise he's just trying to have a little fun. But, I'm kind of an "old school" comics guy, and it looks like Nolan is obviously going down the new hotness "completely F'ed in the head" Joker.
-
Holy shit, he looks like Brandon in the Crow. It's almost scary!
-
in fact i wonder how years from now people will look at nolan's batmans. since he doesn't stick with the comic book looks of joker or the batmobile like at least the burton batmans do.
-
at one point. can't we all just agree clownface is scary and get over the similarities?
-
This is a good thing. The Joker is insane. If they strike a Frank Miller tone with this Joker this film will kick ass.
-
he was born for the part of joker!it looks like bollands killing joke http://www.batmans.de/news/article/Batman-Continues/1120430126.html

i wouldve liked it better if (and im not going to in depth, here im fuckin tired) it went something like harry really did die or just been hurt really badly when he threw the bomb at him but he didnt care for the moment due to the suits power over him. but then when he hits mary jane (cut that dance scene out they couldve just had a normal but slightly goofy type of dance that couldve made mj mad not him playing a piano and stealing drinks) he relizes what he did and so he takes the suit off and blah blah blah yadda whatever. or they couldve just had harry take care of sandman mostly so we could see peter and venom fight. VENOM RULES HOW CAN YOU GIVE HIM 15 MINUTES OF SCREEN TIME THEN KILL HIM? and why does harry keep saying he sucks when harry liked jar jar binks? and he gave a good review to the blair witch project 2. WTF

Quote: "Ledger on the other hand looks like a raddled old drag queen."Have you ever read ARKHAM ASYLUM? The Joker that's portrayed in that graphic novel is pretty much a transvestite drag queen. High heels and all. Here's the kicker, out of all his many incarnations, that one just so happens to be one of the most terrifying and disturbing versions of him out there.
-
"How are we supposed to send him our "pics"? No links at all on that site. Update forthcoming I suppose?"
At the bottom of the letter, click the word "SMILE" you'll be taken to a page to upload your pics. -
He doesn't look like a drag queen though.
-
Is Joker talking to Batman. The rule is simple. Batman never kills. So this is obviously a thought out scheme of death. He's basically saying "I'm going to make you kill someone tonight Batman." Which seems very Jigsaw in a way. What if Joker makes Batman kill Rachel?
-
Joker could be trying to get Batman to kill him (by slaughtering innocent people)to break his one rule of no killing. Very John Doe (Seven)
-
The only part of Nicholson's portrayal that I thought "Now THAT is the Joker" was the "Bob..... Gun..... BANG! I'm gonna need a moment alone boys" scene...
The scary fucking part of the Joker is that if he's in the mood, he's gonna kill ya, you have no idea when or how but its gonna happen, he may just shoot you, or he may have a little fun with it, that is the scary part, he is so nuts that not even his crew are safe. -

with all those pictures released of random people going around dresed up as batman Im thinking its more likely that the Joker is planning to frame Batman by making it LOOK like Bats killed someone- therefore making everyone in Gotham think he's some other nutjob with a mask. It explains that picture of a batman dummy being burnt by a mob.which is quite Penguin in Batman Returns but Im hoping for even better than that.
-
what about a real trailer?
-
Mob wants Batman dead because he ruins their business. The Mob hires Joker to deal with Batman after his successful robbery and double homicide. It makes more sense that in his encounters he wonders why with all the gadgets Batman doesn't have a gun and kill any of the goons. Only to realize that Batman's one rule is also his greatest weakness. In the leaked photos Batman was left alone in an interrogation room with Joker and he was knocking him out. Which means Joker has pushed Batman to the limit (by killing someone Rachel?) or is looking for information on someone (Rachel kidnapped...Gordon's daughter?) and Joker is just laughing it off. Joker reminds me alot of the white guy Kevin Costner pushed off the building in The Untouchables. Capone hires him to deal with the dirtyside and Costner's friend ends up dead because of him. Napier seems the same way. He knows he too will beat the "rap" and get off since Gotham is so corrupted and the Judges will just push an insanity plea. Maybe Joker is trying to get himself pushed off a roof as well.
-
Don't tease me. I'd love to see Batman kill Maggie Gyllenhallealeeeallllhall.
-
Let's have a little fun shall we. I predict that this, like batman begins, will incite an online uproar over its accuracy to the source material in which many nerds will heatedly debate for months and months... afterwhich, cooler heads will prevail and many will realize the film was merely average, not worthy of the incessant arguments... the vox populi?
It was ok, but too cliche, the third act was below par, and the onliners were cringe worthy.
b -
-
it's going to be ALOT easier to be the Joker next halloween.
-
yes I have read A Asylum and agree. The joker in Millers Dark night returns has a hint of drag queen about him as well.I just prefer the emaciated dandy look of killing joke .After the dissapointment of Nicholsons bloated buffoon, I'd just like to see a *classic* portrayel , before reinterpreting the character this much.
-
I wonder what kind of service plan that comes with.
-
At least, he wasn't originally. INSANE implies that he has no understanding of the difference between right and wrong (hence the insanity defense). The Joker should be fully aware that what he's doing is hurting people - he just doesn't care. He's hyper intelligent - perhaps as intelligent as Batman himself, but he refuses to check himself. What he desires he does, no matter who it hurts. Such a person could be labeled HOMICIDAL and SOCIOPATHIC, perhaps even MANIACAL, but not INSANE or PSYCHOTIC. An insane or psychotic person has trouble keeping their thoughts together, which doesn't gel with the Joker's constant ability to go intellectually toe-to-toe with Batman. That's just my take on The Joker, though. Obviously the modern incarnation of the character is a bit different.
-
does anyone else see the irony that a paper called USA TODAY reports on GOBAL events that happened YESTERDAY?
....just a thought. -
...to all of you trash-talking Nicholson lovers who refuse to give respect to Cesar Romero. Recognize!

It'd be cool to see Harvey Dent be a two faced DA where Bruce would think he was this incorruptible figure only to find out he was working for Salvatore Maroni (kind of like Nancy Pelosi :) we'd find out Harvey killed Rachel for snooping around and seeing Salvatore is the friends that paid for his campaign he'd off her accidentally Flint Marko style then blame Joker (cuz its obvious her character is gonna die in this one duh) he'd get the drop on Batman possibly having him tied down in an inescapable situation by binds (Robocop 2) only to have Joker save Batman by pouring acid on the binds and have it hitting Harvey's face.
-
joker pouring acid on the binds. otherwise, not a damn bad plot
-
Zom I didn't add Joker's line. "Damn I was aiming for YOUR head." Saying he meant to scorch Batman's face. But it hit half of Harvey's face and the binds.
-
I didn't even dream of that being a possibility. If they can introduce the Joker and take care of the mistake that is Rachel, then the terrorists haven't won. Also, I don't care what you say, but Spider-man 3 was the most comic-booky movie of the three. Stop trying to church up superheroes and make them realistic, and give me over-the-top costume on costume fights.
-
Joker turning on Maroni. Seeing as the trailer implies that he hired him to take down Batman and didnt realise the Joker was a completely impulsive maniac who does whatever he wants. So the Joker does something completely crazy that fucks up Maroni's business somehow and when he calls in to see him Maroni gives him an ear full. Naturally the Joker doesnt take orders from ANYBODY so he just kills Maroni and takes over.....seems like the kind of thing that would happen. Dont know about Dent being a corrupt DA though-I like the Long Halloween vibe their going for which indicates that Harv will become a great friend of Bats before he's transformed-making it much more of an emotional tragedy.
-

My review. -
If you have it that Harvey only took the money because his friend Bruce didn't support him (the money went to fund his new Batcave)
-
So, you're antiSemitic and homophobic? You and Dog The Bounty Hunter should hang.
-
He could have paid for the campaign 100 times over but didn't because of the mask he wears as Wayne like he doesn't give a shit about anything but what playboy millionaire's care about. Women, cars, houses, yachts, jets.
-
Since Harvey already killed Rachel the "Killing Joke" could be that he sets up a clever scenario where Batman thinks he "kills" Rachel (maybe giving Batman a gun with blanks he fires into a wall Rachel is behind)
-
my tinyvenomcockdar is usually never wrong about such things
-
Im hoping its durng the final fight where Batman and the Joker are duking it out at the chemical plant. Harv shows up (and its been established that he has a tendency to fly the handle)to help. He's really stressed with trying to take down the mob AND the Joker so he's been driven to bring a gun and off the guy himself. Batman intervenes and tries to talk him out of it, giving Mr. J the oppurtunity to set off an explosion that releases pouring acid all over the place and Harvey gets drenched in half of it, and is taken to hospital in critical condition. Mean while when Bats and The Joker resume fisticuffs Joker opts out and throws himself into a vat of chemicals to escape. The plant starts to burn down, Batman escapes, but Joker isnt found. Therefore you have an epilogue of Harvey waking up in hospital, and seeing himself-his mind instantly goes out the window. Cut to somewhere where the Joker is recovering with a doctor and looks in the mirror-he's got chemical burns and completely white skin-cue maniacal laughing which fades to Batman and Gordon on a rooftop-Bats blames himself for what happened to Harvey but him and Gordontry to press on. roll on part 3!
-
You'd just need a logical reason as to how a DA would know about the Chemical Plant robbery? It's not like police call up DA's and say "Hey robbery in progress." So unless he's like Spider-Man with a police radio it seems out of character. The only solution is of course he's two face and was there at the wishes of Maroni.
-
if its the final fight the place could be swarming with police already, but its too big so everyones all over the place....or that the fight has been spanning the city and Dent decided to follow where Batman goes, which ends up at the`plant. Hopefully Nolan and co have come up with a better idea anyway!

To all the dumbasses saying Joker looks like ERIC DRAVEN from Th
by jfp2007
...actually it's the other way around. Eric Draven looks like The Joker. The very first appearance of Joker is what they went with here; thus The Crow looks like the Joker. The original Joker had black around his eyes and of course was white with red lips. The hair was different but if you compare this new Joker image with the original Batman #1 panel that has been posted many times, he looks exactly like him. There's actually an alternate version of the new shot with that panel put over the driver's head and the resemblance is uncanny.

dude, lol the crow came out in like 1985 and this pic is from a movie which is not even out yet get a clue rockstar

Who actualy collects comics in this thread? Im curious...
by therealseveren
What are the real gems in your collection? Any of them Batman comics? Anyone have Joker #1? Is Batman #1 considered the most valuable issue in the Batman universe?
-
..except the hair and mouth. The black circles are the same and the post-chemical bath crackled skin in the new photo are consistent with the line work. No one said he looks exactly like it, only that there is a resemblance. This is backed up by Nolan saying that the Batman #1 Joker is the primary influence for his. So, Nolan and myself and few thousand others must be insane then.
-
Detective #27 is the most valuable Batman comic. That was his first appearance and he was in that series from then on and to this day. Batman and Detective Comics are the main two series. I'm sure Batman #1 is way the Hell up there, though in terms of value. There was a recent article on Fox New website about a guy who bought a near-mint copy of Detective 27 from some guy who found it in an attic. The article said it's worth $250,000.

So, the titular "Dark Knight" is the Ledgeoker, right?
by jackpumpkinhead
Must be, considering that it's the only character featured in the promos, those stupid "viral" games, or the PR fluff sold by those who were paid to work on this film (see Michael "Heath Scared Me!" Caine)
-
Looks WAY more like the original Joker. They both have normal hair, wear similar clothing, and the skin coloring doesn't look shoddily put-together (although it's intentionally that way with Ledger, I'm sure). What's more, Nicholson's Joker may not have had black around his eyes, but there is a change in color around his eyes. Nolan's Joker is inspired by the original Joker in his actions (one presumes), but the appearance is way different.
-

By the way, the black dildo is simply the Joker's boner.

I had to watch the first flick a few times before I could decide whether or not I liked it. Don't have to spend too much time weighing this one. Don't have to see that in motion to know I do not possess the abdominal fortitude to withstand the torture. With comic adaptations, the talent and look is everything. Ledger is neither.

There's an Ad in THIS TALKBACK, there, on the right, with a clear photo of Heath as The Joker. Nobody has mentioned it. What's up?
My take on Heath? I hate his Joker so far. Looks awful, and the only hope is that his performance makes up for the shitty design choices. -
the pez batman set to come out next fall. will be batman, joker, twoface, and the riddler.
-
...and be all 'meh' about a movie that will clearly kick it's ass is beyond me. Yeah, I'd like to see Favreau do a movie half as good as 'Memento', let alone this.
-
A stuntman died during the making of this picture. AICN failed to report it when it happened and has yet to mention it since. Kind of a big deal, I would say.

When Bane was driving Poison Ivy.

i just checked it out on several pez collector/pre-order sites, here's a quote:
""May 2008- New Batman dispensers...this assortment is rumored to have batman, joker, two face and the riddler. How cool it is to see we may just have some villian pez coming our way :)
These are a tie in with the movie The Dark Knight which is due out in July 2008""......now, they may just be making 'famous' villans, but i've had a sneaking suspicion that an pre-riddler character will be lurking, observing or directing events in the background of TDK -
Just remember that movie for a second. See, we're all spoiled now because the last Batman movie was Batman Begins, a good (but not perfect) Batman film. So now for some people if something doesn't conform to their exact ideal of the charachters should be, they piss and moan. If you have a problem with the previews of the charachters, just think of Arnold Schwarzenegger, walking around in polar bear slippers, sporting a sparkling robe ripped straight out of Liberacci's wardrobe. I think you'll see find that this Joker's look isn't that bad.
-
months back there was filming of a car bomb scene, and sprinkling down from the explosion was playing cards...the pics were posted on BOF (but may have been since removed due to their strict no-spoiler policy). a person watching the filming took the pics and reported they shot a scene where rachael and harvey were getting in the car. they did several takes that all ended as soon as harvey got in. then they shot an identical car getting blown up. so there you go. racheal dies, harvey is severely burned on his side that entered the car. real car bombs are more explosive flame than shrapnel btw.

Iron Man looks good but every damn blockbuster's promotion has its moments, when EVERY piece of trailer/picture released so far leads to one conclusion: it CANNOT fail. And then it sucks. No matter how the promotion was handled.
Now, if you check the FACTS, the proven track record of people involved, TDK is in every way at least as exciting as Iron Man, the latter's only trump card being its fresh flavor. Yes, it's a hero nerver-seen-before on the big screen. Yes, it's not a sequel. Yes, there isn't any Schumacher previous episode casting its ugly shadow upon it... But for fuck's sake Favreau is a former sitcom actor who directed lame comedies or lamer kiddie movies while Nolan made Following (a kickass first feature), Memento (an insanely original flick), Insomnia (one of the few interesting remakes around) and Batman Begins (love it or hate it, it was an interesting endeavour, and an amazing foretaste of things to come).
So, if people around here don't think this is interesting enough, or draw conclusions about a fucking scavenger hunt before it's even finished... well, in the immortal words of Clubber Lang: "I pity the fools". -
THIS MOVIE WILL SUCK!!!If they can't get a decent enough actor to play The Joker, the whole movie falls apart. Ledger's "biggest" name role before this was playing a gay sheepherder. I'm sorry, but that DEFINITELY doesn't not qualify him to play the scariest and craziest villian in comicdom. And seeing as PROVEN actors like Adrian Brody (who actually LOOK the part) actively fought for the role, that makes the decision to cast Brokeback Balding Heath all the more painful.Iron Man's gonna kick this movie's rectum... :(

I dunno. Nothing I've seen or heard has impressed me so far. Could this be the end of Batman?
-
But I must have watched the trailer 50 times. Then I read all the negative reviews, and decided that I was never going to watch a dissappointing movie. I've seen too many of those. Prequels, Sequels, and what the hell were they thinking movies that have destroyed franchises that I have loved. Star Wars. Halloween. Nightmare on Elm Street. Alien. Lethal Weapon. Star Trek. Child's Play. Rocky V. Godfather III, "Like Dad, I'm Dead." They even made a sequel to The Dirty Dozen. If ever there was a more appropriate time for a writer's strike, now would be that time. Screw those hacks! Bring in some fresh blood. Bring in some writers to Hollywood that aren't just going to write by the numbers! Bring in some writers that actually have respect for great films! They made a sequel to The Graduate for Christ's sake! Starring Jennifer Aniston and Kevin Costner. Jesus!

Why is this site always so dissinteresting in TDK stuff?
by edward_nygma
Christopher Nolan has proved himself a purveyor of cinematic awesomeness on four occaisions, not least of which with Batman Begins, but everytime some new stuff shows up this place can't even be bothered to report it on time. Then you've got JJ Abrams and Jon Faverau, two directors who have proved themselves as purveyors of cinematic awesomeness on no occasions, but any time some Cloverfield or Iron Man stuff appears everyone fills their fucking shorts. I don't get it.
-
Aflac? Is it just me or does he look like he is about to either (a) fart. (b) toss the salad (c) stoned (d) all of the above.
-
Grant Morrison wrote an issue last year where the Joker turned more psychotic, killed all his former henchmen, and CUT A SMILE into his face with a scalpel, mimicking the look of Ledger's joker.
-
...this was already done well before anyone knew what the Joker, even Nolan, would look like. They pulled the cut concept from this, and the dark circles and overall look and tone of the character from the Batman #1 version (and a few others mainly The Long Halloween, The Killing Joke, and whatever that one story was that reinvented the character as a henchmen killing maniac).
-
im getting the fuck outta here god im glad i didnt have a computer when batman begins came out didnt know wtf to expect
-
i'm tellin' ya- just google bermejo joker and you'll see how lee bermejo's version is the basis for the new look....and for all the complainers, it needs to be explained that almost everything else in these movies is an amalgam of the choicest parts from the entire comic series. condensed, if you will. people who complained about the tumbler never realized how much it resembled the bat-tank from miller's dark knight comic...it's also obvious that the new joker is pretty much a mix of every joker version ever, except the make-up, which is the realistic aspect. the nolan crew knows they can pretty much only get a 3 picture deal, but want to use their most favorite batman stories and combine them into one trilogy...which is why we see elements of miller's dark knight, the long halloween, batman #1, year one, arkham asylum, etc..... it's a difficult task but i think they are handling it.....

We've got what looks like it's gonna be the best interpretation
by flyingtoupee
..and you guys are calling it "blah"? Let me guess, you miss the moustache clearly showing under the makeup. Or it lacks the wit of a short, portly guy dancing and hootin' and hollerin' to Prince music. Or,perhaps we need an epic climax:
Joker: I just killed a thousand people, but it was all for my daughter.
Batman: I forgive you. -
I honestly dont know how people can complain....I mean if people want a fantasy, crazy version of Batman, you have the comics, cartoons even a prior film series that did that. And theyre GOOD too-well most of em. If Nolan wants to take it down a realistic road as an experiment-seeing as Batman is the most realistic of the super heroes-then fair play to him.Its not the first and it wont be the last incarnation of the bat in our lifetime believe me. Its something NEW onscreen at least and it paid off well in Begins (except for Scarecrow, but that was only cos he didnt have enough screentime). I dont get the early complaints about the Joker here either-I mean I wanted Crispin Glover as much as the next guy, but Heath was chosen and I got over it because Chris Nolan has yet to make a bad film-not a one. If he see's the Joker in Heath I trust him. and as for the design, okay I would have preferred short hair-but from the begins vibe Im surprised the made the guy as flamboyant as he is. So he only wears makeup-still looks like the joker to me. the kind of derranged loon who would cut a smile into his face, and would happily kill anyone merely for "the joke". If you want the Joker , well hes got dwarf henchmen for Christ sake and look at his clothes-those scenes of him in the interrogation room-wearing exactly what Mr. J would wear, looking EXACTLY like I would imagine only its greasepaint. Initially I was gutted with him wearing the makeup-I dont get why he couldnt have chemical burns and paled down skin-but looking at those pictures, I got over it cos he looks messed up. Crazy even.Like, yknow the Joker. the neatness of the clothes shows how vain he is, yet the rest of him is as chaotic as his personality, and he may even think it looks good. Trust me I have plenty of greasy, long haired diluded mates who reckon theyre Gods gift-and theyre not even vicious sociopaths...well one is. Any who from this entire viral marketing campaign, the way the Joker is written seems spot on to me-the red writing echoeing Arkham Asylum's font, the Long Halloween-esque Jack O latern-theres a clear respect for the source material there, and if Nolan and co and the ones writing those messages then theyve got the Joker spot on. Bale nailed Wayne (his Batman growl is a little silly but can be ironed out) and it looks to me (from these very early indications)like theyve captured the Joker. All I cay is-roll on July. End rant. This is waht I do with m time between lectures man.
-
they knew what the movie joker would look like. It was before it was revealed to the world at large, but the production team had the look picked out. And they didn't get the 'cut-face' idea from Batman #1, or any other Batman comic. The joker's mouth has never been cut until he did it himself in Morrison's Batman comic which came out a year ago.

to go along with his other work. Ledger looks fine as Joker (and I don't mean in a "Damn, she fine" kind of way). He actually looks more like a clown. Or Beetlejuice.

Yeah... but we don't WANT Beetlejuice as the Joker.
by theghostwholurks
Seriously, the makeup Ledger's wearing is pure garbage. He looks horrible and completely uninspiring. THAT'S why so many people are feeling so unenthusiastic so soon.GIVE us something to be excited about, like Iron Man AND Cloverfield have, and we will. Right now, all Nolan's given us are crummy-looking photos of the Joker, played by a guy that NO ONE wanted for the role in the first place.Until "Dark Knight" ups the ante and shows us something worthwhile, my phaser's set on "Meh."

Saying you don't agree with Zionists is not anti-semitic and it certainly ISN'T Jew Hating. Israel is a country...Judaism is a religion. See the difference? You don't, do ya?

I don't know BSB or Brokeback Cowboy, as I'm not as symbiotic with this site as most.
I believe that immediate hatred of some one due to there race, creed or culture is quite ignorant and I'm sure I'm not alone on that AND I'm also not accusing anyone of that. I'm well aware of Israel and it's history and the history of the Jewish people...I'm not one of the many Americans who simply believe that Israel has ALWAYS been a nation. Now as far as your Old Testament defense, well now that depends on whether you believe that or not. Simply saying that "God said this was our land" is not convincing to some one that doesn't recognize that God and also, if we're quoting the Old Testament I believe that Israel was supposed to be "a land with no people for a people with no land." Which it certainly was not and ALOT of religious scholars will agree that massing in the Holy Land in pre-messianic age is a repudiation of Judaism. While I agree that Judaism is a unique religion, due to the fact that it crosses into the boundaries of culture and ethnicity....however equating the principles of Judaism and the policies of Israel is reckless and prone to disaster. Israel IS a nation and therefore must be held responsible for it's decisions AS a nation. This "new wave of Jew hater" you discuss, I am hoping you are not speaking of those that are simply critical of Israel, 'cause I DO NOT believe that warrants the title of "Anti-Semite" which is something that Israel and AIPAC are using so often it's developing no meaning. -
Is this seriously the conversation you idiots are having within a F*CKING DARK KNIGHT talkback!?!?! Why don't you find a "pretentious asshole" chat room and wax intellectual there....idiots.

They think that if they like the Joker in this film than they could be Gay "GASP"!
-
The boy protests too much. Too much Dancing With the Stars?
-
not groundbreaking. Hell, there's a clearer, slightly more dynamic shot of Ledger as the Joker just underneath the Top Ten right now. No dildo either!
-
I know its been said over and over, but man he really looks like the Crow, I know that this movie will suck fucking balls just like Batman Begins

Being a vicious Muslim-hater, you're really in no position to judge anyone on prejudices. Any and all of your views are thoroughly biased and therefore meaningless.
Brians Life made a great counterpoint to your blatantly racist Zionist views. All along, Israel's been advertising itself as the only 'democracy' in the Mideast, a utopia of Jews and Arabs living side by side (and in some cases, really do), although the truth was that it is an apartheid society. Now trudges along Anchorite to lecture us about Eretz Israel and God's intent for Israel to be a Jewish-only nation, without even a mention of the displacement of an entire people from their land to accomplish your selfish goal. Well, at least you're honest about your racism. Surely it explains why Israel has treated the Palestinians in a way that would make Hitler envious.
People like you, Anchorite, are a disease in this world. You're no different from the hateful Jihadists or White Supremecists. -
believe the following statement by Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss effectively eradicates your attempt at linking Judaism to Zionism. Shame on you for even trying, for all you are accomplishing (and by Zionist design) is worldwide condemnation of Jews for the actions of Zionists.
New York City, September 23, 2007
Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss issued the following statement on the eve of the group's meeting with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
"It is always our pleasure to visit with President Ahmadinejad. This will be the third such meeting, in addition to our many visits to Iran in the past. We have each time emphasized to the Iranian leadership that, despite media hysteria and the statements of some misinformed Jews, we have found the Iranian people and their leaders to be friendly and respectful."
"Likewise, although we as Jews are not to be involved in politics, (According to Jewish law, Jewish people are required to be loyal citizens to the countries wherein they reside), We have found the Iranian President to be a deeply religious man, dedicated to a peaceful world, based on mutual respect, fairness and dialogue."
"Judaism seeks peace. Unfortunately, there are some Jews today, influenced by the barely century old, philosophy of Zionism, who feel that the proper Jewish response to enemies, be they real or fantasized, is aggression and calls for violence and unfortunately attempts to drag other nations down the path of war."
"It as sad that so few have actually attempted to speak to the Iranian President or seek the true opinion of Iranian Jewry who live in peace and practice their faith throughout that nation. We have met this man who has demonstrated time and again that he is sincerely interested in the well being of Iran's Jewish community and has deep respect for world Jewry and their Torah faith, The Zionist attempt to socially isolate this man and his people is immoral and disastrous"
"Zionism is antithetical to Torah beliefs. It believes in creating our own sovereign entity which is expressly forbidden due to the Divine decree of exile. This ideology leads to aggression against nations and is incarnated in the State of "Israel". This State continually oppresses other people in the name of Judaism and the entire Jewish people. This movement has exacerbated anti Semitism throughout the world. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad understands this distinction between traditional Judaism and Zionist distortion."
"We view our approach to Iran as a model for all Jews and all mankind. The Torah is the Almighty's blueprint of mercy and justice for all creation. We have followed this modal in our dealings with the Iranian President and found in him an individual dedicated to these same ideals. There is much to be gained by talking and listening and everything to be lost by raising the rhetoric in the direction of war." Â The grave tragedy of our era is the inordinate power garnered by Zionism, whose acceptance of force as the only means to reconcile conflicts, has influenced some to abandon Torah fundamentals. We hope and pray that they too will adopt the traditional Jewish approach of dialogue, respect and reconciliation."
"War is a horrible thing. The dark clouds of a future conflict are now on the horizon in the Middle East. Torah Jewry hopes and prays that this may yet be averted."
In conclusion says Rabbi Weiss, "Out of great respect to the Iranian Nation and their leadership we proudly welcome the Honorable President Ahmadinejad to New York, WELCOME!"

Really guys, this is not the right place for this...go get on your white horses, put on your white hoods and settle this like gentlemen. This is horrible. If you feel the need to take out your Arian aggression on a super hero movie talkback you obviously have issues. So...figure it out elsewhere. Batman. The Dark Knight. Lets try talking about that 'k, Puddin'. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure this was originally part of a Sarah Silverman skit. I might be wrong though.

This is pretty old news but here's Heath in "action":http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1Fdv10HJMs

This Zionist-Conspiracy / Kook vs. Kook bullshit is getting really fucking old. Between BSB, anchorite, and MoM (and maybe a few others)...I can't decide which one is more adept at killing a TB thread. These schoolyard bully games of one-upsmanship are beyond silly anymore.

AH HELL NAW!

as important as entertainment as a commentary on the political world and entertainment isnt the place for racist diatribes.

if we wanted a discussion of geopolitics we would be on drudge.
If thats what you want there are tons of places that find it.
Harry, can you apply the left boot of fellowship the these moron's collective asses? -
A year from now, people will be talking about how terrible Heath Ledger was as The Joker. Please explain to me just what exactly about Heath Ledger's career screams The Joker? Where have all the good casting directors gone? From the pitiful cast of Superman Returns to the pitiful cast of the new Star Trek movie, to the pitiful cast of the new Justice League movie, to the pitiful casting of unattractive, god-awful lead actresses time and time again (Kate Bosworth, Kirsten Dunst... woof!), casting these days is just getting worse and worse...
-
I wonder how you can so boldly affirm that he's a terrible choice. Nothing in his career "screams The Joker"??? Wow, that's a very open-minded way to envision the casting procedure. Just because an actor is unexpected doesn't mean he'll be bad, unless you were present during the casting sessions, hmm? No you weren't.
You remind me of these people getting all wet with the Bob Downey casting for Tony Stark because "a former addict is a fitting choice to play an alcoholic", or other ignorant bullshit like this. Downey's been cast because he's a fucking great actor, PERIOD. No respectable director (and former actor, no less) would cast someone because of his real life antics; nor would he cast a guy because his "past career" leads to the role, and ONLY for that reason. Nicholson was great in Batman, but it was hardly a "performance", and thus a poor casting decision from a strict CASTING P.O.V. Which doesn't change the fact that it was, on a CINEMATIC P.O.V, pure genius. -
SHUT THE FUCK UP

Well said indeed.
