A whole mess of KONG: SKULL ISLAND featurettes and scenes to get you to go Ape!

Hey folks, Harry here...  You know me, Kong Nut Supreme.   I love the original 1933 KING KONG more with every iteration of the 8th Wonder of the World.  Have any of the films influenced by the original surpassed it?   No.   But I'd also hold that isn't the point.   Just like in my eyes, there's never been a STAR WARS movie that beats, for me, the original STAR WARS.   More than any other film in the series, it makes me look to the sky and wonder what's out there.  Nothing beats those original themes and the just utterly convincing universe it established.   But I never want them to stop making STAR WARS movies - and I very much feel the same way about KING KONG.   I would love a world where we had MEN IN SUIT Kongs, Stop Motion Kongs, Marionette Kongs, Robotic Kongs, CGI Kongs, LEGO Kongs, MINECRAFT KONGS - you name it, I can watch it.

What does it for me about Kong, is to imagine the what if.   What if we discovered our world was bigger than it has ever been?  That there's a hidden point on Earth...   never spied upon, never landed upon - and on that magical isle...  things are not business as usual.   The rules we have about scales of existence need not apply.   That here... there be monsters.    My love of KONG - is very similar to my love of Lovecraft - the pervausive mythology of beings prior to the formation of mankind.   Dark Ones... coming for us.   And when looking at all these featurettes...  I get giddy at the lack of dinosaurs...

Sure, I love Kong fighting the terrible T-Rex, but TOHO broached Kong versus Godzilla....  so I'm fine with Kong fighting anything.   Shitballs, I'd love Guillermo Del Toro to direct KONG VS CTHULHU at the Mountains of Madness.    My thirst for awesome knows no bounds.    That said, watch these featurettes and scenes and dig on the energy, the vitality and inherent cool of the images slapping you six ways to Sunday!

Did you watch all 7 pieces?   Hope ya did, so cool...

Keep it cool,

Harry
