"I do intend on making a final Unbreakable movie and I’m intending on doing it next,” M. Night Shyamalan told Uproxx while promoting his new smash “Split.”

At the very end of “Split,” we learn it is set in the same universe as “Unbreakable,” with Bruce Willis briefly reprising the role of superman David Dunn.
Shyamalan says James McAvoy’s character, The Horde, was originally to be a component in “Unbreakable.” Shyamalan says “Split” is an “Unbreakable” sequel.
"I said 'Can we make a sequel that they don't realize is a sequel? Can we make an origin story without telling them it's an origin story until the last moment of the movie? So it plays as a thriller and becomes an origin story?' So that was the idea from go."
"Split" earned $40 million its first weekend of release and positive reviews from 76% of critics polled by the Rotten Tomatoes website.
