Tonight's episode of "Arrow" sounds a LOT like the great Alan Moore story "For The Man Who Has Everything," which depicted an extraterrestrial trapping Superman in a fantasy that depicted Clark Kent's fondest desire -- until Kal-El began to question his new reality. (When the same fantasy-generating organism (The Black Mercy!) fell upon The Batman, Bruce Wayne imagined an alternate reality in which Joe Chill's bullet missed Thomas and Martha Wayne.)
"For The Man Who Has Everything" loosely formed the basis of a "Supergirl" episode aired last season.
The CW says of tonight’s “Invasion!”:
Oliver wakes up to a life where he never got on The Queen's Gambit. Robert and Moira Queen are alive and well. Laurel is his loving fiancée and their wedding is imminent. Everything seems perfect, but Oliver starts to notice small imperfections that make him question this new reality. Meanwhile, Felicity and the recruits take on a new threat with help from The Flash and Supergirl.
