So we know that no matter what we're going to have a gorgeous-looking Star Wars movie attacking our eyeballs this December. All the trailers and snippets we've seen are proof of that. What stood out to me in this new trailer was the tone.
Even in a short 2 minutes you feel the oppressiveness of the Empire. You feel the odds stacked against our rag-tag group of spies. You know this isn't going to be a clean movie. This feels a lot like the Dirty Dozen. Most of these folks probably aren't going to make it out of this operation and you feel that in just the trailer.
I also liked the emotional connection to the mission for our lead. We'll see how that one plays out, but I like using it as a driving force. The only real box left to be checked is team chemistry, but I'm happy to wait for the movie itself for that one.
