Robert Downey Jr. may be too busy to play Tony Stark on “Agents of SHIELD” or “Jessica Jones,” but he may not be too busy for series television generally.
Variety reports that the “Judge” star may be ready to transform his long-in-development Perry Mason movie project into a series for HBO.
“True Detective” creator Nic Pizzolatto would script the Mason reboot, according to the trade paper.
Downey is no stranger to TV lawyering. Some six years before Downey shifted his movie career into a new gear with 2008’s “Iron Man,” he appeared in 25 episodes of Fox’s legal dramedy “Ally McBeal.”
