Starz’ “American Gods,” adapted by writer-producer Bryan Fuller (creator of “Dead Like Me,” “Wonderfalls” “Pushing Daisies,” “Hannibal” and CBS’ upcoming Star Trek series), is based on the Hugo-winning novel by Neil Gaiman.
I gather the old gods are the deities worshipped by the Egyptians, Vikings, Romans and so on. The new gods are drugs, money, media, tech and their ilk.
Ian McShane (“Game of Thrones”) plays Mr. Wednesday, Ricky Whittle (“The 100”) plays Shadow Moon and Pablo Schreiber (“The Wire”) plays leprechaun Mad Sweeney. Others in the cast include Kristen Chenoweth as Easter, Crispin Glover as Mr. World, Peter Stormare as Czernobog and Gillian Anderson as Media.
“American Gods” hits Starz next year.
