Hello ladies and gentlemen, Muldoon here with this week's selection of short films from across the globe. Hopefully your weekend is off to a great start, and what better way to decompress from the week with a handful of films that take you to distant dimensions, alien worlds, and more - all in the comfort of your home? This week we have four films that I find fascinating and think you all will enjoy as well. Whatever you're into, I simply hope you're able to see a fun film below that you might not have seen otherwise. Perhaps you've got an idea for a film of your own, a story you're just dying to tell, but don't know how you'll go about creating it. If so, just remember the filmmakers below, as well as every other short film that's played on SATURDAY SHORTS, started with that same passion, that same desire to create something. Given I've been lucky enough to screen shorts each week here for roughly four and a half years, there's no shortage of creatives out there - and in our very own AICN audience. Remember to full screen each short, crank up the volume, and enjoy the ride.

BLINKING LIGHTS

Next up we've got a science fiction romance film from Lawrence Parmenter. "She’s just met the love of her life… according to an Algorithm. But as she wakes up in the cold light of day she starts to wonder: If you don’t know how to feel – can a computer really do the feeling for you?" The film explores a few concepts, like the idea of websites intended to help people "find love" and how you can't always depend on math to find a soulmate. In the mood for a larger than life trip on a space station with blood thirsty alien creatures on the loose? Cool, because that's what we've got from Jerónimo Rocha. "Trapped inside the Space Freighter/Refinery DÉDALO, SIENA tries to survive an infestation of DIABOLIC CREATURES." Be sure to do yourself the solid of seeing how Rocha created the film with its great behind the scenes video, or its Facebook page. (Thanks Chris!)

Directors Michael Trikosko and Andrew Wilson have our next film, an incredible animation they created at Ringling College of Art and Design. It's a sweet film that's visually stunning, so I hope to see much, much more from the two in the future. "A lonely chameleon struggles to stay visible while seeking the attention of his crush." IDENTITY CRISIS:

Dave Macomber has our last film of the week with IDENTITY CRISIS. "An assassin meets his match." Given Macomber's history in stuntwork, here we have five minutes of spins, punches, flips, and more. While the film is more of a show piece for action, I find it enjoyable and think you will as well as while there's not much of a plot, there's a healthy amount of humor injected into this crazy fight. You might remember a STAR WARS fan film Macomber co-directed years ago, DUALITY and if you've not yet - then make it a priority - it's great. Check out Dave's Youtube Channel for more action!
