Lynda Carter, the actress who played the world’s first live-action Wonder Woman, will now play the U.S. president on “Supergirl.”
Carter’s character will debut in The CW’s third episode of the series and recur thereafter.
The first Carter episode will air in late October – likely only days before the United States elects its first female president for real.
Series producers are fond of repurposing actors who have played iconic DC Comics characters in the past.
Laura Vandervoort and Helen Slater, who played Supergirl on “Smallville” and in the 1984 “Supergirl” movie, respectively, recurred on “Supergirl” when it aired on CBS. Dean Cain, who played Superman on “Lois & Clark,” plays Supergirl’s adoptive father on the show.
