DOWNTON ABBEY’s Dan Stevens To Play Charles Xavier’s Troubled Son In LEGION Pilot Opposite Aubrey Plaza!!

I am – Hercules!!

Stevens played Mary Crawley’s cousin and love interest before he crossed the pond to land the lead in “The Guest” and supporting parts in “A Walk Among The Tombstones,” the third “Night At The Museum” feature and “The Cobbler.”

The print version of mutant David Charles Haller, introduced in 1985’s New Mutants #25, has the Rogue-ish ability to absorb the personalities and superpowers of others. His abilities came to include reality warping, time travel, telepathy and telekinesis.

Haller, also known as “Legion,” is Charles Xavier’s son, the result of the randy Xavier impregnating Israel’s ambassador to Great Britain. Haller hears voices that may or may not be real, and has spent a good deal of time in mental institutions.

Others cast in the pilot include Aubrey Plaza (“Parks and Recreation”), Jean Smart (“24”) and Rachel Keller (“Fargo”).  Noah Hawley ("The Unusuals," "My Generation," "Fargo") scripted the pilot.

FX greenlit the pilot that could bring Haller to the small screen in October. The same week FX’s broadcast sibling, the Fox Network, announced its own potential series with ties to the X-Men, that one dealing with a secret agent infiltrating the Hellfire Club.
