"The blacklist is alive and well, and so is the black market." A second trailer for Bryan Cranston as TRUMBO!

This trailer has a little more pizzazz and a little less showy monologuing than the last one, while still managing to convey nearly every major beat of the actual film. We get a better look at the supporting turns by Diane Lane, Hellen Mirren, Louis C.K., John Goodman, Stephen Root, Alan Tudyk, and Elle Fanning, and some more bits of Bryan Cranston’s Dalton Trumbo self-aggrandizing and weathering the storm of the McCarthy blacklist.

From all I’ve seen and heard, this should be a well-performed, well-researched, and funny biopic, and certainly the most dramatic theatrical feature Jay Roach has worked on to date. This could be the film that finally translates Cranston’s small-screen glory into big-screen success and maybe even awards contention, as well as being a look into a chapter of Hollywood’s history they don’t really like to talk about (don’t expect an Elia Kazan or Sterling Hayden biopic anytime soon…).

TRUMBO gets more of his screenplays produced under a pseudonym than most writers will see produced in their whole life on November 6th.
