Jake Gyllenhaal, Tilda Swinton, Paul Dano, and Bill Nighy may star in Bong Joon-ho's latest!

Bong Joon-ho made his English-language breakthrough on SNOWPIERCER, and he’s lining up another formidable roster for his next film, OKJA.

The monster film, which will allegedly boast a Korean female lead and a supporting cast of English-speakers, might feature Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Dano, Kelly Macdonald and Bill Nighy, along with returning SNOWPIERCER scene-stealer Tilda Swinton.

No word on what the actual premise of the film will be, but Joon-ho has previously said that the film would be set 40% in New York and 60% in Korea, so whatever monster is at the center of this thing is apparently threatening both Asia and North America. Presumably, these actors would only feature in less than half of the film, and there’s no word on who Joon-ho will be filling his Korean cast with.

Still, if he gets Gyllenhaal and Dano, both current awards contenders for SOUTHPAW and LOVE & MERCY, he’ll have a couple of big names to help sell the film both here and abroad. Having Swinton, whose bad-teethed micro-manager emerged from SNOWPIERCER as the favorite character of many, certainly doesn't hurt either.

Maybe he’ll get Song Kang-ho to be the (male) headliner of the Korean segments?
