I’ve found Cameron Crowe’s work to be a bit hit and miss over the years, but I’ll forever extend him no small portion of good will based on my love of ALMOST FAMOUS alone.
Alas, will such ‘good will’ include his new film ALOHA, which arrives on-screens today beneath intense critical pillorying? I’m thinking it may not. The timing and vibe of this first 8 minutes of the picture feel rather off to me. Quite off to me, actually. And, its hard to imagine this kind of energy being stretched across a 100+ minute running time. What do you think?
