Drafthouse's nostalgic movie-themed pint glasses keep on truckin' with TED 2!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. The Alamo Drafthouse is tops for many, many reasons. Their no talking/no cell phones policy is leading the distribution industry (even if it is a gradual change it has been amazing seeing the other nationwide chains following suit, even if they don't enforce it as aggressively as the Drafthouse does), their respect for classic cinema hasn't waned as they've expanded (I'm taking a friend's kid to a double bill of Wizard of Oz and Return to Oz this weekend) and they continually go out of their way to make going to the movies, old or new, an event.

Case in point, they're starting a line of film-related pint glasses done up in the style that tickles a massive nostalgia center in my brain. I assume that their glasses aren't going to give me lead poisoning like the ET/Temple of Doom/Star Wars glasses I used to collect as a kid.

They've already announced their Jurassic World pint glass (more on that in a bit), but they're not stopping there.

We're debuting their newest below, which is tied into the release of Ted 2. Like Jurassic World, this release was designed by Eric Manche and can be had by adding $8 to any online pre-order of tickets to Ted 2 at participating Drafthouse locations. Whatever stock that's left over (after June 12th) will be sold individually.

Here's what it looks like:

It's a cool trend and one I hope keeps up if only because I really, really, really want to get a The Force Awakens glass that looks as cool as these.

In the meantime, the Drafthouse folks has given me one of the Jurassic World glasses to give away. Check it out below:

In order to win you gotta run over to Twitter, follow @EricVespe (that's me!) and answer a Jurassic trivia question which I'll post at 9am CST. First with the correct answer gets the glass, it's that simple. Contest is open only to those in the US, sorry foreign pals!

Right now it looks like the Drafthouse's deal is with Universal, but I hope they get the other studios onboard. Daddy wants some crazy movie-themed glasses. I don't just mean the big tentpoles, but I want Sam Jackson and his hunter kid sidekick in The Big Game glass, zombie kids in Cooties glasses, bearded Kurt Russell shooting old west cannibals in Bone Tomahawk glasses... The works! Know what I'm sayin'?

Good luck to those that enter the contest!
