THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN May Be On Its Way Back To Movie Screens!!

John Davis and 20th Century Fox are joining forces to bring THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN back to the big screen.

Davis’ previous genre entries include the PREDATOR films, I, ROBOT, WATERWORLD, and CHRONICLE - he also produced the FAT ALBERT movie, ERAGON, NORBIT, MARMADUKE, and the upcoming MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. picture.

The critically and commercially successful comic book series follows the literary icons Alan Quatermain, Captain Nemo, Mina Harker, invisible man Rodney Skinner, Secret Service agent Sawyer, Dorian Gray, Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde and the group’s recruiter, M, as an off-color group of outcasts that have to team up and use their powers and skills to save the world from destruction by the evil madman Fantom. The award-winning series ran fifteen issues and two graphic novels.

…says THIS piece over at Tracking Board.

The Alan Moore comic property was previously adapted as a motion picture back in 2003, under the direction of BLADE helmer Stephen Norrington.  Which seemed like a pretty great notion at first glance, but quickly proved otherwise. That film's Blu-ray is, by the way, available for $5 on Amazon right now.  Which probably says a lot.

For many years I disliked that film…it felt cumbersome and devoid of much-needed energy and spirit…although I’ve recently softened on it a bit. I suspect this is a temporary condition.

Let the casting wish-lists begin!
