On his Instagram feed, Dean Devlin has posted a selfie with Jeff Goldblum (the real actor, not Harry’s dog) on the set of the new INDEPENDENCE DAY movie. Is it still ‘selfie’ if someone else is in the image with you? Not sure how that works.
I’ve never noticed how much alike they look.
Goldblum returns as David Levinson in the film. The first time around he played a cable technician turned world savior - wonder where this new story will find him? He’s joining returning cast members Judd Hirsch, Bill Pullman, Brent Spiner, and Vivica A. Fox, along with franchise newcomers Maika Monroe, Liam Hemsworth, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and Sela Ward.
Last I heard, the film is being shot with a not-yet-released RED camera called ‘Weapon’ and will be filmed in 8K.
Look for the picture to release June 2016. I quite enjoyed the first film, and am still struggling to believe this one’s really happening…
