Via his Twitter stream, X-MEN: APOCALYPSE co-writer/producer Simon Kinberg has revealed that today marks the first day of shooting on the May 27, 2016 release.

Notably, RotJ opened on May 25 back in 1983. APOCALYPSE opens almost exactly 33 years later (off by a couple of days).
