THE FORGER stars John Travolta as an ex-con/art forger who takes on the biggest job of his career. He is tasked with replicating a piece by Claude Monet, breaking into the museum housing it, and pulling the old switch-a-roo to lift the original. For some reason, he decides to bring his dad (Christopher Plummer) and his son (Tye Sheridan) along for the ride.
That's the weirdest thing about this trailer - it pulls a complete 180 and goes from being gritty crime drama to being a zany family romp. I'm guessing the film will veer a bit more toward the light side, but we'll have to see for certain when it comes out. It is slated for DirecTV release on March 26th followed, by a VOD and limited theatrical run on April 24th.
