We already know that Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, and Haley Bennett are on-board this project - now it’s looking like Ethan Hawke will reunite with TRAINING DAY alum Washington and Fuqua for his new adaptation of the 1960 Western classic, THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN. This per Variety.
MAGNIFICENTSEVEN was itself was gleaned from Akira Kurosawa’s SEVEN SAMURAI…and was later embraced by the rickety-but-beloved-by-me BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS (‘Live fast, fight well, and have a beautiful ending’)…
I’m rarely terribly excited for remakes, but this one has a promising vibe to it so far - and casting to this point seems badass at the very least.
We’ll see how it all comes together when the new MAGNIFICENT SEVEN rides onto screens…whenever it rides onto screens. I don’t believe we have a release date for this one yet, but stay tuned…
