The first full trailer for David Fincher's GONE GIRL has hit, promising a twisty turny mystery thriller of the best kind.
Based on the best-selling novel by Gillian Flynn (who also penned the screenplay), the film stars Ben Affleck as Nick, a man who finds himself the chief suspect in an investivation after his wife (Rosamund Pike) suddenly goes missing.
I haven't read the novel, but from what I understand, it plays its cards pretty close to the vest when it comes to Nick's guilt or innocence - a technique that Fincher definitely carries over, if this trailer is any indication. In just over two and a half minutes of footage, you just back and forth between thinking he is absolutely innocent to thinking he could not possibly be more guilty if he tried.
The film opens on October 3rd, and will no doubt be the highlight of the fall film slate.
