Check this out. MSN UK released a trailer for the sci-fi thriller THE ANOMALY, from director Noel Clarke (ADULTHOOD). We saw Clark in front of the camera last summer, in a small role in STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS, but now he's back with another directorial project (that frankly, looks way more interesting and original than STID).
Traumatised ex-soldier Ryan wakes up in the back of a van, alongside a kidnapped boy. Ryan helps him escape but when he finds a mask in his pocket he comes to an appalling realisation…. But there’s no time to act - after nine minutes and forty seven seconds of consciousness it all goes black. What does this have to do with Ryan’s past as a patient at the experimental Medical Unit? Ryan has a lot of questions, and very little time to find any answers.
Clarke stars in the film, alongside Brian Cox, Alexis Knapp, Luke Hemsworth and Ian Somerhalder. I caught Somerhalder doing one of his very best Damon Salvatore smirks in the trailer, which only makes it better.
ANOMALY is set to open in the U.K. on July 4th. No U.S. release date has been set, but hopefully that will happen soon. I definitely wouldn't mind adding this one to my summer viewing slate.
