Richard Linklater's long-term, experimental project BOYHOOD was certainly a gambit, with filming spanning a decade on a story that chronicles the coming-of-age of a boy and the changes that he and his family go through over the course of his childhood. But, it's a gambit that clearly paid off, as the film received rave reviews at Sundance and at SXSW, and has become one of the most highly-anticipated non-tentpole films of the summer.
A few stills have been released from the film, which stars Ethan Hawke, Patricia Arquette and Ellar Coltrane. (via The Playlist). BOYHOOD opens on July 11th. Personally, I can't wait.
