After years of making us laugh, Ken Marino is gonna give us GOOSEBUMPS!

Papa Vinyard here, now here's a little somethin' for ya...

Yet another supporting cast member's been hired for Rob Letterman's GOOSEBUMPS flick. Ken Marino will be featured in the film as a high school coach who helps the central kids (played by Dylan Minnette and Odeya Rush) fight off world-invading monsters. Weirdest part: the high school's name is Greendale High. I gotta hope that halfway through this thing, Abed, Britta, Jeff, and Shirley are going to bust open a door and say something to the effect of "Time to bump off some gooses, bitches!"

Marino's been hilarious since THE STATE in movies like WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER, DIGGERS (which he also wrote), and last year's BAD MILO. He also serves as one of the stars of CHILDRENS HOSPITAL, was my favorite cast member on PARTY DOWN, had a great run as Guy Young on the last season of EASTBOUND AND DOWN, and currently kills it as sidekick Flute Cop on the underrated and underseen AXE COP. Any movie with him in it has got something on its side, and before you dismiss his role as being perfunctory and background, let me point you to the scene-stealing high school coach performances by Bruce Campbell in SKY HIGH and Thomas F. Wilson in FREAKS & GEEKS. If he can add a little bit of his trademark deadpan subversive humor into this thing, then it may just have a chance at getting some adult audiences into the theater.

Or they could just waste him, in which case I hope his paycheck is sizable.

GOOSEBUMPS stays out of the basement on March 23rd, 2016.
