I've read a few people writing off X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, and I'm thinking at this point that they should keep their cynicism in check. If this works like I think it will, we'll be seeing some interesting competition on the superhero genre front with Fox and Marvel. I think it's a safe bet that Marvel won't be getting the rights back to X-MEN anytime soon.
I love the scope of this trailer - until now, the X-movies have always felt a little smaller in comparison to their Avenging kissing cousins. But no more. We get Sentinels, time travel, and war in this brief 2 and a half minute trailer, and personally I think Michael Fassbender's Magneto is probably worth the price of admission alone. Although X2 feels a tad dated now, I remember at the time being incredibly excited to see what Bryan Singer did next with these characters, and more than 10 years later, we're finally getting it.
