The International Press Academy, The Broadcast Film Critics, The Phoenix Film Critics and the Houston Film Critics should all be weighing in any day now, but most of the film critic societies have announced their winners.
And with nine orgs already picking it for best picture, the excellent “12 Years A Slave” is way ahead of the pack.
Its only real rival is the also-excellent “Her,” with 4½ groups giving it best-picture kudos.
The National Film Critics and the New York Film Critics are the odd groups out, choosing “Inside Llewyn Davis” and “American Hustle.”
Last year most of these groups picked "Argo," which went on to snag the best-picture Oscar.
