Fox To Dabble In Shared X-MEN / FF Movieverse!?!?

Many of us have been wondering whether or not this could happen  - and whether or not it would happen even it it could.  ‘Twas far from a foregone conclusion, as Hollywood doesn’t always unfold as logic would dictate.

This said, it’s not hugely surprising that Fox might be looking to bash together a few of their Marvel movie franchises into a shared universe, a-la THOR/IRON MAN, HULK and whatnot.  And that’s exactly what may happen now that Simon Kinberg (X-MEN: FIRST CLASS and X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, STAR WARS REBELS, Neill Blomkamp’s upcoming CHAPPIE) has signed a new three year, first look deal with Fox.

Kinberg is heavily involved with next summer's X-Men: Days of Future Past and the studio's upcoming Fantastic Four reboot as both writer and producer. The new deal will allow him to expand those franchises into full-blown universes, with the hope of creating for Fox something akin to the Marvel model of interlocking movies.

…says THIS piece over at Heat Vision.

Word on the street is: not only is this internal pollination taking place at Fox, but I’m hearing some tentative legwork has already been done which would make such crossovers..far broader in scope…over the long term.  That may take a while (if efforts are even successful at all), but this would seem to be an excellent first step.

Speaking of Fox and comic book movies, you can find Ben Affleck's pointed regrets about his 2003 DAREDEVIL movie HERE).
