How would you like five more Marvel TV series aside from the one that’s garnering mammoth numbers over on ABC?
Marvel is reportedly packaging a miniseries and four (!) ongoing dramas and shopping them to outlets like Netflix, Amazon, WGN and maybe even some channels not particularly known for producing their own original programming.
According to Deadline, Marvel is looking for an initial order of 60 episodes spread across all five series.
Fans of “House of Cards” and “Orange Is The New Black” know Netflix is a censorship-free zone, capable of saying and showing things one could not permit in an R-rated movie, let alone the public airwaves controlled by ABC.
So that’s pretty exciting. Imagine Mark Millar’s "The Ultimates," with Magneto’s incestuous offspring and a girlfriend-abusing Hank Pym and a Shannon Elizabeth-banging Tony Stark and an angry Stever Rogers and an insane Thor and a genocidal Hulk let loose into the “Thrones”-ish pay-TV space!
Yes, I know.
But a man can dream.
For the record, "Agents of SHIELD," being an ABC show, never gets to follow NBC's "The Voice":
