THE WOLVERINE FROM HOT TOYS

Hugh Jackman helped right many of the wrongs of the atrocious X-Men Origins: Wolverine with the latest film to follow the exploits of Logan the mutant. Hot Toys has created the definitive 1/6 scale action figure based on the The Wolverine, featuring Jackman’s likeness, 30 points of articulation, 5 interchangeable hands, two film-accurate cloth costumes, an engraved metal katana, and a figure stand. He’ll slice his way into toy collections in May or you can pre-order the surely mutant here.

SHERLOCK AND WATSON FROM BIG CHIEF STUDIOS LIMITED

Sherlock from Big Chief Studios Limited

The stars of Sherlock will soon get the 1/6 scale treatment from Big Chief Studios Limited. The company posted this pic on its Facebook page with a message stating, “We have been a little delayed, tweaking the tailoring and making fine adjustments to the costumes. Sherlock’s coat has been particularly tricky.” Big Chief promises to have these detectives up for pre-order soon.

BATTLE READY RON BURGUNDY FROM BEELINE CREATIVE

Battle Ready Ron Burgundy “Now before we do this, let’s go over the ground rules. Rule number 1: No touching of the hair or face. And that’s it.” That’s all you really need to know before participating in a TV anchor blood rumble. Just like this new 8-inch Ron Burgundy action figure from Beeline Creative, you’re going to need a makeshift melee weapon and a slick-looking suit as well. This retro 8-inch badass will release in December or you can pre-order him here.

No one can argue that the Alien vs Predator film series should be considered a low point for each of these venerable franchises. On the upside 2004′s movie has spawned a new SH MonsterArts die cast action figure from Bandai for both the Alien Warrior and the Wolf Predator. The Alien Warrior features a segmented tail, a finely detailed egg chamber, chestburster, a translucent head, and bony armor plating. It stands a little over 6.5-inches. The Wolf Predator will stand over 7-inches tall and feature die cast metal armor, dreadlocks, a removable mask, interchangeable mandibles and a wrist blade that can be displayed either exposed or retracted. Look for these in March or you can pre-order the Alien Warrior here and the Wolf Predator here.

The original Kenner Wampa stood a measly 6-inches tall. The new blown up jumbo version measures 22-inches high and features that same articulation of its predecessor. It will arrive in Empires Strikes Back-inspired packaging with original photos and artwork. Gentle Giant Ltd. for a limited time will also give you a free Jumbo Hoth Luke if you purchase the Wampa on the company website. That deal expires at 11:59 on Monday, October 14.

AND FINALLY THIS WEEK, John Carlos McMaster takes a closer look at a toy that takes two people to pull out of the package, the new 1989 Batmobile from Hot Toys.
