Gravitas Ventures has released a trailer for Laurie Collyer's (SHERRYBABY) new drama, SUNLIGHT JR. The film stars Naomi Watts as Melissa - a convenience store clerk living with her disabled boyfriend Richie (Matt Dillon) and barely scraping by. News of an unplanned pregnancy and the sudden loss of her job throw their lives into upheaval. Richie desperately wants to help and support his family, but is struggling just to get a handle on his alcohohol addiction. Complicating matters even further is the re-entry of an old (and seemingly questionable) flame (Norman Reedus) into Melissa's life
The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year, with Watts and Dillon receiving high praise for their performances. And while the trailer doesn't make it look like the most uplifting film in the world, Collyer looks to once again shine a spotlight on an underseen corner of society.
SUNLIGHT JR. is slated to open in November, but no specific release date has been given.
