Ethan Hawke is a busy busy man. SINISTER, THE PURGE, BEFORE MIDNIGHT...he's had a crazy year. Now he's back again in Courtney Solomon's (DUNGEONS & DRAGONS; AN AMERICAN HAUNTING) new thriller, GETAWAY.
Getaway is the gritty, heart-pounding action thriller from Warner Bros. Pictures and Dark Castle Entertainment in which former race car driver Brent Magna (Ethan Hawke) is pitted against the clock. Desperately trying to save the life of his kidnapped wife, Brent commandeers a custom Shelby Cobra Mustang, taking it and its unwitting owner (Selena Gomez) on a high-speed race against time, at the command of the mysterious villain holding his wife hostage.
Here's the latest trailer. It gives a few more plot details and way more car action that the one we saw before.
I've always had a soft spot for Dark Castle's films (mostly the horror). They are always fun, easy, enjoyable entertainment. Never really on the heavy or intellectual side, but that's cool. Sometimes all you need is some entertaining popcorn fare, and GETAWAY looks to fill that spot nicely.
