See Sam Rockwell bury himself with A SINGLE SHOT in this trailer!

Howdy do, everyone, Papa Vinyard here.

We have a trailer for the Sam Rockwell-starrer A SINGLE SHOT, and it's way more specific on plot details than the ominous teaser that came out a few months ago. We get a good idea of the A SIMPLE PLAN-style narrative, involving Rockwell as a hunter who accidentally shotguns a woman in the woods, and finds that she happens to have a nice little pile of cash on her. He naively thinks that the story ends there, but, of course, it doesn't. The money belonged to some unsavory individuals who are 100% willing to endanger his child to get their cash back, and Rockwell has to negotiate his personal priorities with his own greed to get his kid's life (as well as his own) out of harms way.

Rockwell looks awesome and darker than usual, and he's gotten good notices out of Berlin Film Festival, as well as Tribeca (where I had to give up my screening tickets for the film to catch Jerry Lewis, Robert DeNiro, and Martin Scorcese presenting KING OF COMEDY...it was a tough call). The supporting cast is also lookin' good, with William H. Macy, Jason Isaacs, and Joe Anderson making strong impressions as various people that cross Rockwell's path. While the film itself has gotten mixed reviews, I'll be sure to check it out; I am a fan of morality plays like this, especially when they're drenched in as much style as is evidenced here. Plus, I am a big fan of the director's first film, the decidedly more comedic SEE THIS MOVIE.
