Colin Farrell and Jessica Chastain Will star in MISS JULIE, which THR describes as being...
...written by Swedish playwright August Strindberg in 1888, takes place over a night in 1874 and tackles such topics as sexuality, class and gender.
Chastain has recently appeared in several high-profile and rather intense films, including ZERO DARK THIRTY, MAMA, LAWLESS, and THE TREE OF LIFE. Farrell was a lot of fun as Vampire Jerry in the surprisingly unobjectionable FRIGHT NIGHT remake, and appeared in SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS last year as well as director Len Wiseman's flatly paced and utterly hollow TOTAL RECALL remake.
MISS JULIE will be directed by Liv Ullmann, best known as an accomplished actress...although she's an experienced writer and has directed a bit of film and television in the past. She also authored a book called CHANGING, which I remember vividly remember seeing on my parent's bookshelf when I was growing up. Not sure why I recall that so clearly...funny the things we remember, and what we forget.
