Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a really fun interview I conducted with Robert Downey Jr. and Rachel McAdams for SHERLOCK HOLMES at Comic-Con.
This was an odd one for me as it was a total surprise until right before it happened. I knew I was interviewing the SHERLOCK producers (coming soon), but it wasn’t until I went to check in for that interview that I knew I had Downey and McAdams as well.
Awesome, but that left me with little to prepare… but fuck it, right? I like to make these things conversational anyway (ie make it up as I go).

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with one of the biggie interviews I was lucky enough to snag at this year’s Comic-Con. I had gotten the chance to interview James Cameron back in 2006 right before he announced what his Project 880 was and I tried to keep my geek in check as best I could. Read that here if you missed it.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a doozey of a report from the 2 ½ hour long Warner Bros panel. Tons of stuff, so no bullshit chatter up front. Let’s get down to it.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here fresh from the Convention Center after my walkabout today. I spent the day shopping, picking up some movie posters (got an ABOMINABLE DR. PHIBES half-sheet, inserts for AND NOW THE SCREAMING STARTS and ASYLUM and one-sheets for DEMONS, THE BEAST MUST DIE and THE IPCRESS FILE if you give a crap), some Con exclusives and the like. Thank God for Sunday, the only day I can actually enjoy the floor.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here to give you the full rundown of the IRON MAN 2 panel at Comic-Con!
Footage description: Kevin Feige is brought out. Keep the tone. Brought out Favreau. Footage first. Looks like a shitty DVD extra, something a step above what Kenny Powers put together to show off his arm for baseball talent scouts. Just some greenscreen stuff. Downey comes out. “Fuck that! What was that? Unadulterated garbage. You showed me better stuff in the editing room!”

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. After a long, long, long, long, long day, I kicked up my feet and tried to catch up on the massive Warner Bros Panel article while sitting at the back of Hall H during James Cameron and Peter Jackson’s panel…
And then they decided to fuck that up for me as they talked about really interesting things.
Sure, the bulk of it is talk about old tech vs. new and how great 3-D is, but I kept getting distracted by these two giants.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I'm still in the middle of the Warner Bros panel, but this one little bit of news I need to drop here.
Gary Oldman was on the panel for THE BOOK OF ELI (which looks really cool, by the way) and was asked about when the next Batman movie is coming out. Surprisingly, Oldman was open. He said he thinks they shoot next year, so look for the next BATMAN flick to come out the year after 2011 (his words).
"But you didn't hear it from me," with a laugh.
I'm sitting down with Oldman today and will follow-up.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Last night I joined a few other online outlets on a journey down the rabbit hole and got a tour of a meticulously organized series of props from Tim Burton’s ALICE IN WONDERLAND. Apparently Burton himself was hands-on in making sure this was set up right.
First a little background… I was contacted by Disney in the wee hours of the morning (Wednesday) asking if I’d like to take part in something Alice In Wonderland related. Of course. What is it? They would not say.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with my thoughts on the big one of this year’s Comic-Con.
James Cameron showed over 20 minutes of select scenes from AVATAR in 3-D to a massive crowd in Hall H. I’m going to try to recap as much as I can on the fly.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Comic-Con 2009 officially (and I stress officially) starts with Disney’s 3-D panel with the promise of TRON, ALICE IN WONDERLAND and A CHRISTMAS CAROL.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with some pics of the completed floor during this hellish preview night. I say hellish with the most love possible. I’ve heard a lot of bitching from even the average con attendees (not just the press and professionals) about how not fun this Con is anymore and I don’t want to be one of those guys.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with my first report from San Diego… already. Goddamn. I remember when preview night used to be the ease into the Con and now it’s pretty much an official day (I’ve already had to RSVP for a 1:1 and photo op on the floor tonight). Those days are long gone and I’ve had to resort to sneaking onto the floor as it’s under construction to stay ahead of the curve.
