The latest film from Judd Apatow is his least outrageous comedy yet. Most of the laughs come from the actual stand-up routines - with much of the real life... well, it reveals characters of a deeply flawed fashion. Seth Rogen's Ira Wright is a struggling mediocre talent living with two brighter and more successful comedic talents in Jonah Hill's Leo Koenig and Jason Schwartzman's Mark Taylor Jackson. Ira is filled with self-doubt and insecurity. He works a job he hates at a deli counter, and he desperately wants a break.

Fresh off of his unsettling performance as a sociopathic mall cop in OBSERVE AND REPORT, Seth Rogen has taken on what is easily his least likable character yet in Judd Apatow's FUNNY PEOPLE: he's a joke thief.

While Aziz Ansari may not get quite enough screen time in Judd Apatow's FUNNY PEOPLE to steal the film (he only turns up in a few scenes), his Randy character has certainly dominated the picture's ambitious viral marketing push. And for good reason. A hyperactive, sex-obsessed comic whose set is so meticulously choreographed he needs his own DJ, Randy (or "Raaaaaaaandy!") is an uproarious parody of everything that's wrong with stand-up today: he's loud in lieu of clever, rehearsed rather than real, conceited instead of engaging.

Hey folks, Harry here - before I was attacked by the hilarity of BRUNO - they showed a new trailer for FUNNY PEOPLE that's a bit filthier than than regular trailers can be - and the perfect appetizer to get you in the mood for BRUNO. That said - FUNNY PEOPLE has great buzz going on it. The couple of people I know that have seen it are saying that it could very well be Apatow's best film to date. That'd be good. All I know is I really dig this trailer...

Hey folks, Harry here... Devin over at CHUD's Facebook status mentioned he couldn't figure out how to embed the Trailer for FUNNY PEOPLE at MovieFone... SO I checked it out, it was easy enough. Devin, just SOURCE this page and rip the code buddy. Thanks for the heads up! Meanwhile, DAMN - since when could Adam Sandler play OLD? That's so fucked up. I mean. He kinda does look like a generation older than Seth Rogen. WHAT THE HELL? Really? How fucking old does that make me?
