Hey folks, Harry here with your very own INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS talkback space. Now some people are calling this Quentin's best movie. I'm not sure if I even have a favorite Quentin film... I watch KILL BILL more than any of them, but I long for JACKIE BROWN on Blu-Ray the most. I love watching Res Dogs, Pulp and Death Proof and the only thing he's helmed that I don't really care for is his section of FOUR ROOMS. And INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS... well...

I’ve had a lot of problems with this review. More than I’ve had with any film in a very long time. Why? Well, it is very complicated and I’ve been struggling with how to phrase it.
I love every moment of INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS. Every shot, every scene, every performance, every bit of music. I love it.
BUT…
This isn’t the World War II film I really wanted from Tarantino. And the reason has more to do with me, than with Quentin.

"Do you know the latest rumor they've conjured up, in their fear-induced delirium? The one that beats my boys with a bat. The one they call "the Bear Jew" ...is a golem. An avenging Jew angel, conjured up by a vengeful rabbi, to smite the Aryans!"

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I knew I was in love with Quentin Tarantino’s INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS from the opening sequence… hell, maybe even the opening shot. Whenever it was that I registered that the opening scene to this movie was THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY except instead of Lee Van Cleef riding up to a small adobe house on horseback it was Christoph Waltz riding up to a small French cottage in his Nazi jeep… that’s when I knew I was in for a good time.

The good folks at The Weinstein Company have been kind enough to provide me with two tickets to the Los Angeles premiere of Quentin Tarantino's INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS on August 10th at Grauman's Chinese Theater. And while I obviously want to give these away to a massive Tarantino fan, I'd like for the attendee (and his/her guest) to be just as crazy about the film music of Ennio Morricone - because BASTERDS is as much a love letter to the Italian maestro as it is to war movies.

Hey folks, Harry here - there's a lot of films screening this year at Comic Con, but here's one that has been secret till... NOW. On Saturday night at 8pm at the Reading Gaslamp Theater in downtown San Diego - a 250 seat theater will be packed with extremely lucky folks. To get the tickets - you need to officially follow TheRealBasterds so you can get the info and capitalize on it asap to grab one of those tickets to an ass-kicking awesome time.

Hey folks, Harry here and if you've been following me on Twitter - you probably know I've had the mother of all sore throats and have had a glorious day spitting up neon colored oysters. But I'm on the rebound, feeling much better. Especially after watching this International Trailer for INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS. This is the first trailer that I feel conveys the sort of vibe I am expecting from the film. It'll be out soon enough for all of us to love, hate and discuss.

Hey folks, Harry here, and yes, I'm desperate enough to want/need/crave more of INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS to watch the below trailer mangling of ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT. With annoying voice overs, re-editing and just downright annoying... everything. But through the suffering, you can glimpse a few moments of new footage for our eyes. At least in this version, they're still not pushing a major part of this story that has nothing to do with Pitt & his Basterds. Which was actually my favorite parts of the script.

Hey folks, Harry here... I'm taking off for the set of THE EXPENDABLES in New Orleans today, but before I left I figured it'd be pretty darn nifty to share with y'all this groovy International poster for Tarantino's INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS. It's pretty damn cool looking in my opinion. I love the use of the theater marquee - and is it just me or have they given Eli Roth blue eyes? Cuz that's just wrong - that creeps me out. Feel free to embiggen...

Hey folks, Harry here... and I can not see this movie soon enough. I'm dying. Frank here, has seen the film at a screening in L.A. last night that included a Q&A with Tarantino. Here's the results...

Hey folks, Harry here with the second review we've received from Cannes of INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS. Here ya go...
Hey Harry,
Long time reader...first time contributer. I just got out of the Inglorious Basterds screening at Cannes earlier today, and wanted to share some thoughts...I'll keep things minor spoiler-ish only (I'm sure there were a bunch of people that read the leaked script last September, so no need to explain the plot).
To sum it up in one word: HOLYSHITOHMYGODWOWOWOW.

Hey folks, Harry here with AICN's first review of INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS from Cannes. This comes from longtime friend of AICN, former SXSW programmer and a cohort in my FANTASTIC FEST shenanigans... and Cinetic guru... Matt Dentler!

Hey folks, Harry here... a world away from Cannes and the screening of Quentin Tarantino's INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS... a film finished on an incredibly quick turn around. Many felt the film would clock in around 3 hours, but the word is that it's not too much longer than a mere two hours. I know on my set visit, the word I got was that Quentin was being very economical this time out. Shooting lean and mean, getting what he needed and moving on.

Hey folks, Harry here - This story has me giddy. I always love reading the soundtrack listings for Tarantino's films since he scores pretty much exclusively via "sourced music" ie - pre-existing music. But as much as I like Quentin's films - I LOVE the music he puts together - it's the candy! A source at Cannes that found the pdf file for the credits on INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS sent over the track listings. I'm dying to see how and where Green Leaves of Summer plays. Here ya go:

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. When it rains it pours, eh? Today seems to be our day to debut posters. First we had Miyazaki's next animated sure-to-be-masterpiece PONYO and now we have the jump on a character poster for Tarantino's INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS. I'm fairly certainly you'll be seeing this plastered up all over Cannes in a couple weeks time.

Quentin Tarantino appeared on AMERICAN IDOL last night as the guest mentor for "Movie Music Week", and while I'm crushed that Lil Rounds didn't use this as an opportunity to bust out "Navajo Joe", we at least got an INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS tease out of this not-so-unlikely union (Tarantino was a guest judge back in '04). Here's all forty-two seconds of it:

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I still don't know what to make of this movie... I love Tarantino, I love WW2 movies and this one looks fucking nuts. I refuse to read the script (I understand the third act is radically different now anyway) because I want to experience this in the theater for the first time.
Harry premiered what I think is the coolest of the three posters last night and I wanted to post all three of 'em in one post so you can scroll up and down and compare.

Hey folks, Harry here... Today - there's 3 International One-Sheets debuting across the world that are for INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS, that film that I told you about recently and that has had its first teaser trailer debut every which way. Other than the one below, so far - I only know of this one over at IGN. If you find the third one, be sure to send the link over and we'll update this story with it!

This will be a spoiler free report – which is a difficult thing to write because, well frankly my 4 days on set were spent observing the end of INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS.
Now I know… a lot of you have read the script for INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS which found its way across the internet in excessively quick fashion, but I will let you know that the final chapter of that script has changed excessively. The broad strokes are there, but it has become notably more violent & heroic.

Hey folks, Harry here... Just letting you know the lowdown on the INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS trailer. If you search around YouTube you can see Entertainment Tonight's tease that they'll be running the 'full trailer' tonight. As you and I both know, it isn't very likely that Entertainment Tonight will run the full, unmolested trailer. You'll probably hear some shrill voice talking over part of it, and they'll do their own whiz bang flashy graphics. And we know the trailer will be hitting this Friday on prints of FRIDAY THE 13TH.
